Nov 25, 2006 19:08

I had an interview Wednesday morning at a publishing house. It went realy well and the guy I interviewed with was positive about my resumé and my qualifications. He also contacted one of my references, so everything is looking like I might have a new job in a couple of weeks ( Read more... )

It sounds like an awesome job. (LOL, very much like what I'd want myself one of these days...if I could ever get up the courage. ;D) I hope you get it! :)

By the way, I have discovered C.S. Forester's Horatio Hornblower and am in luv. *swoon*

Isn't Hornblower awesome? I love Bush so much it's not even funny...and Hornblower too for that matter. He's so awkward, and he's got no confidence in himself whatsoever.... *melts* We loves him, yes we do.

Here's a hint from someone who has 20/20 vision only in hindsight... if you possibly can, try to get an internship at a publishing house your junior or senior year. It may pay bunk (or nothing at all) but it's experience and that's really important when trying to get a job in the publishing industry.

Oh yeah. I've started watching the A&E movies too and can't help a certain fascination with Ioan's cheekbones... Ahem ;).

Yay for you! Please keep us posted on how it goes! And no, you are NOT unemployable. Eeyore.

And ooh, are the Hornblower novels that good? I've only watched the TV movies and I liked them quite a bit, but I wasn't sure how I'd enjoy the books. There are about a zillion of them in the series, aren't there?

Well, I've only read two of them so far, but, yes, they're very good. The first four A&E Hornblower eps are actually based off of Mr. Midshipman Hornblower, not the first published, but the first chronologically in a series of 11 books total I think. I've been using this Amazon list to help me keep track.
