It's All Torchwood's Fault! Or, Torchwood Is Making Me Sick :)

... or, New Mental Diseases of the 21st Century?

If you've been reading my comments, you know that I've been suffering from a common disease that I like to call TGM(Torchwood Gutter Mind). Now I've come down with a related disorder that I'll call TGS(Torchwood Giggle Syndrome).

I don't think you could consider the following a spoiler, but if you've seen the first episode of Torchwood Season Two, you'll actually understand it. Otherwise, you'll probably be confused -- and should really go find a way to see the episode. You'll thank me later.

The first symptom:

I was driving around town a couple days ago when a white SUV pulled into the lane in front of me. A lot of dog lovers live in this area, so one sees all kinds of related license plate holders, bumper stickers and so on.

Right above the license plate was a white sticker with large black lettering:

got poodles?

I laughed so hard I almost crashed into the back of the SUV.  Fortunately I recovered control of my car, but as we sat at the stoplight, I noticed something swinging from the, er, poodle lover's rear view mirror.

It was a tiny plush stuffed poodle toy. This set me off again, although I managed to keep driving safely, thank goodness. ("But, Officer, there was this bumper sticker ... you've never heard of Torchwood? Oh.")  I giggled all the way to my friend's deli. When she mentioned that she hadn't had a chance to watch the Torchwood Season One DVDs I lent her("Sorry ... can I keep them another week?"), I had yet another attack of the giggles, and had to explain. Unfortunately she hasn't seen "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" yet. I had to fill her in first, which wasn't quite the same, but she laughed anyway.

I giggled periodically all the way home. I told the hubby and he rolled his eyes. I guess you just had to be there.

I just looked out the window and saw the neighbor's toy poodles. Yes, I'm having another giggle fit right now.

Yeah, maybe you just had to be there ...
