I think I've moved past my crankiness. Between hormones and allergies I was pretty miserable at the beginning of the week. Something in the air was giving me sneezing fits and a sinus headache that lasted a solid three days. And I still feel that >pressure< lingering.
But Tuesday the kids and Dustin visited me at the office. So that was nice. They were headed for the zoo but the weather was supposed to turn nasty. SO they wound up going to Build-A-Bear to use their xmas gift cards that my mom's bff bought them. Cailyn got a cat with a Wizards of Waverly Place t-shirt and Miles got a monkey. 'Cause he's our little monkey.
We're getting ready to head to my parent's for the weekend. Going to go ski and play at the river. Cailyn is excited about getting to ski again. Yay! And my parents were talking about bringing their camper down to the park so we'd be able to have a little mini-vacay.
My granny's refrigerator broke and they moved my nanny's practically new one over. We got into a big discussion about how appliance prices have pretty much stayed level, but the quality has gone down. So I guess it's trade off. Which is really too bad. My Grandma's frigidair that had the bottom freezer (that you had to defrost) and was like 50 years old still ran when they had to give it up. The insulation had gotten wet at some point and the interior had frozen solid over time. When the guys came to haul it off they commented how heavy it was. My uncles commented that that was after it had thawed in the garage for about a month.
And some sad news from a childhood friend. Her dad was just diagnosed with liver cancer. They are all close friends of the family. My mom and he grew up next door to each other. This was the little boy that used to tie her to trees and run through backyards all summer long. He checked into MD Anderson this week to start treatments.
