The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

I have only see bits and pieces of the movie The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (it is one of my Dad's favorites) but the title has always intrigued me. I thought I would tell about the good, the bad and the ugly of my day. Since I like to end things on a positive note, I will go backwards.

The UglyThose of you that receive my family letters know ( Read more... )

The Ugly

oooh, that certainly sounds colorful. I hope it isn't painful. Does it hurt to wear shoes?

The Bad

What keeps you awake...if you know? Can you not stop thinking? Can't get comfortable? On the extremely rare occasions that I have trouble getting to sleep, I sort of self-hypnotize myself by telling myself I'm sleepy, very comfortable, that my body is heavy and sinking into the bed. Works every time. I think I already told you about the mental exercises I learned in college and how they worked so well I used to fall asleep on the gym floor. LOL

It's curious how we vary in our sleep needs. I can't even remember the last time I got more than six hours of sleep a night. Many times it's five. But I feel OK all day. Well, most of the time. I've been known to nod off reading a book or magazine in the afternoon.

The Good

I think the weight loss is great. I'm so happy for you. And how wonderful that the vision therapy is working so well.

Happy First Day of Spring to all of you on this side of the equator!

Oh? I think Mother Nature missed New Hampshire. We're supposed to get freezing rain overnight with an inch of ice on everything by morning. The school children were given notes today to give to their parents with a number to call in the morning to see if school is canceled. The buses won't go out if the roads are icy. Too dangerous.

OK....my comment is nearly as long as your entry. I guess I'd better stop now. ;>)

I enjoy your long comments, Yeux. I think long responses are fun. Thanks!

There is one pair of shoes I can wear. They have a wide toe area. They are probably my least favorite looking shoes but I am thankful to have them right now. I wear those when I go out and I wear flip-flops around the house.

When I am trying to sleep I am able to put off all thoughts but I still end up laying there for ever. I have tried everything from relaxation exercises to counting to 1000 over and over again to natural sleeping aids to herbal teas to "white noises." Sometimes those things work but other times, like lately NOTHING works.

Thanks so much for being happy for me about the weight loss and for my son about the VT. As I have said before, you are the kind of friend who knows how to "weep with those who weep" and "rejoice with those who rejoice."

So sorry that Mother Nature has not told NH that Spring has arrived.

Well, I give you credit for trying all these things. I guess the only thing left is sleeping pills and I'd hate to see you get started on them. Was last night better?

Last night was better. Thanks for asking. I still don't feel rested since I had lost so much sleep for several nights before. Hopefully tonight I will sleep well, too, and get caught up.

I really want to avoid sleeping pills if at all possible.

I love your icon. :-)

Thanks. I found an icon community with close to a hundred Garfield icons. I had a terrible time choosing only a few.

I want LJ to give us more icon slots!!!
