Title: This is Not A Drill
Characters: Wheeljack
Series: Generation 1
Author: Rose0mary
Summary: The Autobots have never, completely, emptied the Ark - nothing the Decepticons have done will cause everyone to jump ship.
Bunny:  There is a scrappet in the Ark

Wheeljack paused when he heard it.

screech, scratch,

There it was again!

Wheeljack got out his portable lantern, shined the light, trying to find the source of the ominous sound.

Scritch, Scratch, Scritch

It reminded him of the one time a scraplet had bored into the lower half of his leg - the entire leg was lost, hastily dumped into the closest vat of sulfuric acid, but the scraplet had been dissolved before it could further infect his systems.

Scratch

Un oh.

Wheeljack spotted what looked like a harmless, scattered pile of lost bolts.  He backed up.  “Optimus, we have a problem.”

“What is it, Wheeljack?”

“I just spotted scraplets.”

Two seconds later, Prowl’s voice boomed through the ark.  “EVACUATE THE BASE AT ONCE!”

Series: generation 1

Summary: He knew something was wrong, couldn’t put his finger on what
Bunny:  Hound is a Decepticon

“Hound!”  Spike Witwicky found the very mech he was looking for.  “Is it true you’re exploring the Sierra Mountain range?”

The forest green mech casually bundled a chord of titanium rope, securing it in a leg catch.  “I like checking out the wilderness - and stories of trees taller than Omega Supreme are very intriguing.”

“Can I come with?”

Hound stopped double-checking his equipment.  “Excuse me?”

“Can I come with?” Spike repeated.  “Humans almost always travel in pairs or larger groups when venturing into the unknown.   So, can I come with?”

A large dark-green head shook slowly.  “Not this time little buddy -maybe on my next excursion.”  He departed without any further farewell, ignoring or choosing not to hear Spike’s plaintive plea.

“But I’ve always wanted to see a real life Giant Sequoia!” Dejected, Spike Witwicky wandered around the Ark until he encountered Beachcomber.  “Hey, does Hound always go off on his own when he’s exploring the great outdoors?”

Beachcomber looked down at the human.  “Yes - it’s procedural.”

“But everyone else leaves in teams of two or three - even the patrols.”

Beachcomber tilted his head.  “The patrol groups are never sent out alone.  In case of a Decepticon sighting, one can return to base, while the other tracks and follows.”  The blue armored Autobot shrugged.  “However, Hound has proven able to elude Decepticons - in the past, whenever he left with a companion, they’d get attacked.  Sometimes both would come back injured.  Sometimes Hound could avoid being captured, while his partner was caught.  More often than not, Hound managed to bring back a badly wounded exploring buddy, both of whom reported running into a Decepticon scouting party.

“After a while, it made more sense to let Hound go off on his own.”  Beachcomber grinned.  “Haven’t lost a mech since - and Hound’s able to take care of himself - and gives accurate Intel of Decepticion movement.”
Spike Witiwcky nodded thoughtfully.  “Okay, thanks Beachcomber.”

Title: Clandestine meetings
Characters: Hound, Long Haul
Series: Generation 1
Author: Rose0mary
Summary:  What better place to secretly meet the enemy than in the midst of a survival test?
Bunny:  Hound is a Decepticon

Hound twisted steel cable, wrapping it around his forearm.  He looked over his assembled supplies - extra energon (over a month’s worth of fuel), emergency thermal pads and blankets, spare cubes (concentrated energy, for those really tight spots), blank data pads so he could map the area, high grade (spiced with minerals, just how he liked it), the metal rope in his servos, morning rations (thirty of them), an auxiliary beacon in case he got in trouble, a prototype energon converter (Wheeljack decided it need a proper field test), and some rust sticks.

His equipment was all here - he was ready to go.

Hound waved goodbye to Bluestreak as he exited the Ark.  He loved exploring the great outdoors - the wilderness was (almost always) alive and free - everything he wished he could be.

Alas, while the war went on, he couldn’t go wherever, whenever.  But he could still get out and go, provided nobody else called for some extra assistance.

The Saturday after Hound left, ready to explore the Sierra Mountain Range, he came across a lone Constructicon.

“You’re late.”  The neon-green and purple builder stated.

Hound remained unapologetic.  “Couldn’t leave as planned."  He tossed the Constructicon over half his supplies.  “How’d the fuel tests go?”

The Constructicon dug out a cube of energon.  “Not good - we can’t utilize the oils or petroleum’s before converting them to energon - and Shockwave is unable to transport equipment so we can build more raw energy converters.”

“Look deeper in the bag,” Hound instructed.  “Managed to acquire a prototype converter.”

Long Haul dug through the stored fuel.  Found the device.  “How’d you get the Autobots to allow you to take this off site?”

Hound let the Constructicon drink the experimental concoction that came out.  “It needs a good, long field test, and I happen to be going out on the perfect mission to try it out.

“Now, what city or organization Megatron going after this time?”

“Can’t tell you - not if you’re headed back to the Bots.”

“And starve alongside you?  No thanks.”

Title: Encounter
Characters: Megatron, Hound
Series: Generation 1
Author: rose0mary
Summary: Deep-undercover agents can’t meet with their handlers too often - but they do need to make semi-regular reports.
Bunny:  Hound is a Decepticon

“Why should I listen to your drivel?”  Megatron walked around the mech pleading for an audience.

Instead of turning in place, always facing the Lord Protectorate, the mech stared straight ahead, not moving an inch.

“I have Starscream reporting to me.  I have Soundwave keeping an optic on my enemies.  I have Shockwave building weapons - why should I have you speaking about things I already know about?”

“Because, Lord Megatron,” the forest-green mech lowered to one knee, when Megatron stood by his throne, “You do not have someone speaking your thoughts, your goals, your aspirations, into the audios of the Autobot troops."

Megatron did not let his delight show.  He kept all expression, all emotion from being revealed.  “Does Optimus know you have always been one of mine?”

Hound couldn’t hold back his relief.  He relaxed, gladden that his true master had decided to let him speak.
