Agent William Fowler sat on a wooden bench, nursing a beer while listening to Miko Nakadai describe her smack down of Starscream.
"First I swipe that coward's armor right from underneath his nose."
William looked to the side when the door opened, allowing nurse June Darby entrance to the crowded aircraft hanger base.
"Then, I hit him once, twice, three times! I gave him the smackdown!
June sank into the only open seat available then spotted who her table-companion was. She started to say something, then heard what the teenager girl was recounting for humans and Autobots alike.
"I stepped back once he was on the ground, cause I don't attack the helpless." Off Miko went, downplaying the role of the Wreckers, Bulkhead and Wheeljack, accompanied by Autobot Commander Ultra Magnus.
When June Darby opened her mouth, William nudged her leg with his. Silently, he handed over an unopened beer. He ignored June's glare at his choice of relaxing-drink. Normally, Fowler didn't consume alcoholic beverages, but water wasn't strong enough right now, soda would only keep Miko up retelling her story, none of them - adults or kids - wanted tea, and the milk had soured.
June didn't touch the can until -
"That's cons zip, Miko two." Smokescreen knelt to high-five the petite girl. "Poor Hardshell never recovered - will we see Starscream again?"
Miko grinned. "Not if he's smart - I'll just kick his arse again if he shows up on my watch." Miss Nakadai promised.

CHARACTERS: Bluestreak
AUTHOR: Rose0mary
SERIES: Any (G1)
SUMMARY: It is impossible to unhear what one overhears on purpose
PROMPT #1 "The best lies are those that include an element of truth".
Putting newfound skills to the test, Bluestreak trailed after Smokescreen. He didn't know why others found it so hard to sneak up on Praxians. Bluestreak had no trouble surprising either Smokescreen or Prowl. Prowl's expression the first time he'd found Bluestreak right behind him had been so comical, Bluestreak wanted it to make a second appearance - preferably where others could view it.
The last several times Bluestreak had surprised Prowl by his closeness, al Prowl had done was raise his doorwings higher. So, Blue moved on to following Smokescreen. Maybe the gambler could be willing to assist?
Think of Unicron - Bluestreak saw his current target enter Prowl's office. He edged closer, wondering what errand Prowl wanted Smokescreen to do. Bluestreak had to almost press his audio against the door to make out the faint conversation between the Praxians.
"... Confound it Prowl! Jazz likes you - a lot. Why don't you reciprocate the feelings?"
"But I do share them, Smokescreen, and that is the problem."
"How is mutual attraction a problem? To the pit with regulations about officers and underlings! You two are the same rank and are in different branches."
"Jazz is a gifted Special-Ops."
"Not seeing the problem." Smokescreen was irate. "Jazz can cause sabotage in areas the rest of us can't reach. And he's never been caught."
A chair screeched against the floor as it was pushed back. "Jazz has made no secret of the fact he can infiltrate the Decpticons at will. He's made no effort to hide his interest in me."
"So what? You need someone who is open and hasn't been trying to hide his feelings when it comes to you."
"Slag it, Smokescreen!" Bluestreak jumped when something impacted Prowl's desk. "Jazz is an expert at misdirection and half-truths. I refuse to let my feelings to be entangled with someone who is not completely honest. Jazz tells the whole truth only when it suits him."
Silence. The silence dragged on so long, Bluestreak began to be worried that someone might find him crouching at Prowl's door, eavesdropping on a private conversation.
"So that's that, then?"
"Yes." Prowl sounded resigned to Bluestreak. He didn't think anyone else would pick up the faint trace of emtion. "I would appreciate it if you would stop trying to 'hook-me-up' with any bot."
"Very well Prowl. I will stop looking out for you interests." Footsteps headed towards the door and Bluestreak scampered away.
Jazz, a liar? A professional liar? It couldn't bee! Even as he denied the accusation, Bluestreak couldn't help but wonder at the truth contained in the statement. He'd noticed Jazz's ability to omit entire sequences of events without sounding like he was covering up for someone.
Backtracking into more populated areas of the city, Bluestreak vowed not to use his newfound skills and abilities to frivolous use. Practice he would, but only after gaining permission, and not on unsuspecting mechs.

SUMMARY: Omitting certain truths means forever walking a delicate balancing act.
PROMPT #1: "The best lies are those that include an element of truth."
Out on a forgotten extrasolar planet, two mechs waited for another. The meeting had been prearranged, and several had been invited. If the others could get away without arising suspicions, they would be here, soon.
"Springer! Glad you could make it."
The Wrecker accepted the armor rattling back-slaps. "Astrotrain, good to see you, as well."
The triplechangers settled down. "Any others coming?"
"Not this time, Blitzwing. Thanks to Red Alert's paranoia, if more than one triple changer requests a leave of absence at a time, he screams 'cahoots'. I do not be the reason he is proven right for a change."
"But your a Wrecker - surely you are exempt from some stringent security measures." Astrotrain felt free to finally voice his confusion.
"And my team would insist on coming with me." Springer shook his head. "Any chance we could arrange a meeting closer to Decepticon territory?"
"With Megatron's pet telepath in the area? Not a chance - the only reason they don't suspect the truth is because Blitzwing play's crazy "
"What do you mean 'pretends'? I am unhinged!"
"- and the only reason I am above suspicion is because seem to lack all ambition at gaining status and fame. I appear to do nothing except obey and enforce all orders given by Megatron or his officers. What about Autobot territory?"
"Have you paid attention to Red Alert's security features? I swear, the mech can spot any secretive meeting, and sees conspiracies everywhere. No one claims to know something Red Alert doesn't already know or can't find out. And I do mean no-one."
"Just the three of us then?" Blitzwing asked. "Shame. It would be nice to reunite with more triplechangers and have a good laugh at the expense of everyone else."
Springer laughed. "We don't depend on Vector Sigma for life and no one realizes it!"
Astrotrain chuckled. "I'm glad we squashed the rumors that triple-changers are a secondary Quintessicon product line. That was too close for comfort."
The three chortled for a short time, sharing the same disbelief that every single-form Cybertron and every transformer thought Triple-changers were just like them - just special with their third-form.
Their time together was short - too many absences, too long disappearances, and even Starscream would realize something was wrong. Blizwing turned to more serious matters. "Any chance we can encourage you to come join our side?"
I'm as loyal to Prime’s ideology as you are to Megatron's method." Springer shrugged and spoke the same 'if only' that had been plaguing the Triple-changers since the war began. "If we were more numerous, we could withdraw from the war and let both sides annihilate each other."
"Same time next vorn? At these coordinates in this quadrant?"
"Works for me - and if I'm not there, another Triple-changer will be."

SUMMARY: Property and lines - they're all the same
PROMPT #6 Choose a favourite episode from any continuity and write a short story based on it.
Knockout did nothing to hide his growing smirk after Starscream arrived back on The Nemesis. "Choosing new sparing partners? I totally agree - you need to find someone capable at fighting at your level, instead of being outclassed all the time."
Starscream kicked at the metal dragon. His damaged ped failed to connect and the Predacon just snarled at his tormenter. "How did you hear about the confrontation with Miko?"
"Starscream," Knockout lowered his head to examine his claws. "I'm just a simple medic - no one here needs to remain silent in my presence." Finding no flaws on his servos, Knockout proceeded to examine the rest of his armour for scratches or dings. "Fighting the same human that took out Hardshell, you're lucky to be alive."
Starscream snarled. "I know that - she reminded me unnecessarily."
"Was that before or after she took the Apex Armour?" Knockout gloated over Starscream's loss.
