SUMMARY: For most violent-based organizations public or private examples must be made to keep everyone in line.
PROMPT #5 "Reward for a job well done"

Megatron remained upright on his throne, unmoved by the news.  Then, he stood up and approached the mech who brought the tiddings of an uprising within the Decepticon forces.  "You mean to tell me there are whole ranks wishing to change their allegiance, not just malcontent individuals?"

Soundwave did not tremble under that terrible gaze.  Every other mech was terrified, despite the fact they were not the one the anger was directed at.

"Yes, my liege,"  TurnCoat fell prostrate, hoping his supine posture would mean a quick end, if Megatron decided to shoot the messenger of bad news.

"Soundwave!"

At the sharp command, all witnesses vented in relief.  They were safe, for now.

Soundwave did not need to come to attention.  He had snapped to the instant his telepathic probe revealed the fact this stranger to the bridge had terrible news he felt compelled to share.

"I think it is time to reward the soldiers for a job well done."  Megatron stepped - not stormed, not raged, just stepped - out, Soundwave by his side.

"Suggestion: allow Starscream to observe as you dispense justice."

Megatron continued his - unhurried, unshaken - walk to the 'secret' meeting place of those who had lost faith in the Decepticon cause.  "A good suggesting.  Contact the Air Commander and order him down here."

Soundwave obeyed.  If Starscream had any sense, he'd not make Megatron wait for his arrival.

CHARACTERS: Shockwave
AUTHOR: Rose0mary
SERIES: Any/G1
SUMMARY: Even the most mundane jobs can reveal unexpected information.
PROMPT #4 Discovery of an ancient code

Shockwave disassembled the grey cranium.  While most other mechs avoided the morbid task of extracting information from deactivated prisoners (they found it repugnant), Shockwave revealed in the gruesome chore.  It was here, examining the memories and the active-until-deactivation-processors, that Shockwave made his most bewildering progress in designing drone programing that gave the appearance of sentience.

Engrossed in checking the integrity of the information on the processors (too many had activated viruses that erased confidential information, or deliberately self-erased by other means), Shockwave almost missed it.  He stopped the active scan and download, focused on the partially erased, mostly hidden baseline code.

Shockwave pulled away from the computer.  The rumors were true - Autobot soldiers had a self-destruct code installed deeper than conscious control.  If he could recreate the entire sequence, why, Megatron wouldn't need to focus so many resources on the soldiers!

Shockwave rubbed his servos together.  The chance to eradicate all of the Autobots with one burst-transmission was too good an opportunity to ignore.  He would devote all his efforts on this one task, finding and deciphering the suicide code.

CHARACTERS: Thundercracker
AUTHOR: Rose0mary
SERIES: Generation 1 AUish
SUMMARY: Healing goes faster when ex-enemies work together for a common cause
PROMPT #3 Setting: Hanging Guardens

Watching (and leading) the rebuild of Cybertron, Thundercracker let himself sink into memories ancient and new.  After eons of war, Cybertron was finally at peace and had the opportunity to rebuild.

Rodimus Prime, advised by the survivors of Optimus Prime’s retinue, chose not to punish Decepticons for 'war-crimes' committed during the civil war that ravaged the galaxy.  To pay for the rebuild, Rodimus asked the earthlings and all other survivors for donation of materials.  It was time to reestablish trade with former allies and new neighbors.

Thundercracker, mourning the death of Starscream, the loss of SunStorm, the destruction of Vos, had the opportunity to lay all at the peds of the Autobots.  He too, elected to forgive once-enemies of past actions.  That choice proved a lot more difficult than expected, but he saw it as the only option.  As the de facto leader, his actions would set the stage for all on-going Decepticon activities.

AS much as he hurt, remembering the scores of friends who had not survived - too many had been killed in battle - Thundercracker wanted to move forward, instead of dwelling in teh past.

For this, he had never been so glad that the irksome humans were inventive or so diverse in cultures.

A giddy Skywarp got to boss all flying bots around.  The fliers included Seekers, mechs with a third form, and ground-pounders who could hover or glide for short distances.  They all worked together to rebuild the cities of Vos and Praxis.  Those two pivotal cities were the first to be started, and they would be completed before the work-crews moved on to other locations.

"Hey, TC, where do these pots go?  And what's in them?"

Thundercracker cut his musings short to examine the basket Skydive carried gingerly.  "Ah, you found the first of the hanging crystal pots."

"Hanging?"  Skydive looked at the fragile-looking contents.  "Like the flower pots humans hang on their patios?"

"Exactly.  The structure for the Hanging Garden is going up over there."  Thundercracker pointed towards the location where Skywarp reigned supreme (Except when the sensible Bluestreak intervened, making sure all workers had enough fuel and recharge).  "There for inhabitants from both cities to appreciate."

Skydive nodded.  "Okay.  Thanks TC!"  He flew off, leaving Thundercracker alone with his wonderment at how quickly the two armies meshed to work together.

CHARACTERS: Optimus Prime
AUTHOR: Rose0mary
T-REALM: Bayverse (post Transformers, pre DotM)
SUMMARY: Monumental decisions should not be left to chance
PROMPT #2 Indecision

Still reeling from Jazz's sacrifice, Optimus Prime had to consider how to proceed very carefully.  His natural inclination wanted him to reveal the presence of his people to the earthlings as a whole.  If they were to stay.

That was the crux of the problem.

Previously, worlds that had been searched and found lacking of the All-Spark meant it was time to leave and head towards the next likely planet.  Now that was not an option - The AllSpark existed no more.  The search had ended in failure.

Optimus Prime was also tempted to let the Decepticons advance without opposition.  Yet to do so would condemn many to die unnecessarily.   Should he continue to fight, knowing nothing more remained to be gained?

"Talk to us, Optimus."  Ironhide broke the silence when Ratchet refused to do so.

Optimus vented.  He needed to transform and pace, but could not.  Inside the airport hanger, commendered for himself and his troops, he could walk around unseen by the indigenous planet-bound natives.  Here, in this parking garage, where SecDef John Keller had asked them to remain while John Keller conferred with his superiors, Optimus could not transform.  The space was too small, and there were numerous humans nearby who did not know the truth about the news-blackout surrounding Mission City.

"Do you wish to stay?  Or continue searching for lost, ancient artifacts?"

"Optimus!  The All-Spark is gone!  Why should we look for something we know is gone?"

"The All-Spark was not the only artifact launched into space to preserve it, Ratchet."

"We stay."  Ironhide stated before Ratchet could regroup his argument.  "You already sent a message telling the scattered teams to come here.  And ... I want to learn more about the weapons the humans used to take out Blackout and his symbiote."

"Hmph!"  In his mind’s eye, Optimus could see Ratchet fold his arms.  "You and your love for weapons and destruction.  Who rebuilds you if you get injured?  ME - and I do not need to know what further ways you can destroy your frame permanently."

"It's not like I'll catch a case of cosmic rust, so far from every recorded outbreak."  Ironhide retorted.

"Recorded,” Ratchet stressed.  "What about the dozens of outposts that vanished without a trace?"

Optimus let the two officers bicker.  It had been a unanimous decision.  They would stay and train the humans to defend themselves from the Decepticons.  After they stopped warring with themselves.  He would not give the humans tools to wipe out their own.
