Starting the year fresh:

a Comic - Star Wars: The Thrawn Trilogy (HardCover Edition) - published Dec 2009, artists include Olivier Vatine, Fred Blanchard, Edvin Biukovic
I enjoyed reading this Dark Horse comic, alot.

A victorian era Mystery - Mrs. Jeffries and the Merry Gentlemen: by Emily Brightwell (2013).
Not the first book in the series.  That said, I was able to follow along well enough, despite not knowing immediatly which characters were part of Inspector Witherspoon's Household staff, and which individuals were brand new for the book.  It takes a group effort to solve the murder while giving Scotland Yard's detectives and inspectors the right nudge to catch the murder in time to prevent another untimely death.

a Focus-on-the-Family four-in-one book: Danger Lies Ahead: Paul McCusker (2006)
In this writen omnibus, the Adventures in Odyssey don't seem to stop, as Mark Preston finds himself paired with the local bully while Lights Out at Camp What-A-Nut ('93), then finds out his parents are moving out of Odyssey and dealing with the fallout in The King's Quest ('94).  Meanwhle, Jack Davis befriends a new kid at school, and learns that Danger Lies Ahead ('95).  When Pattie Eldridge spends a day at the canrival, she encounters a mysterious curse in A Carnival Of Secrets ('97).

a dystopian novel ~ Partials by Dan Wells (2012).
