Title: Novice
Characters: Jazz, Blaster
Rating: K
Fandom: Transformers Generation 1
Summary: Some things can be picked up by observing, others by practicing.
Prompt: Jazz/Blaster - Offbeat
“Nice tunes, mech - you dance?” Jazz tapped his feet to the rhythm pulsing from Blaster’s stereos.
“Nope.” In his Boombox mode, Blaster chuckled. “I have, what the humans call, two left feet.” The music continued belting from the speakers, drowning all other conversation out.
“Shame. Good rhythm.” The black and white music addict bobbed his head in time with the beat.
The up/down motion looked simple enough - Blaster shifted into robot mode, the better to copy Jazz.
Seemingly unaware that his fellow music lover was imitating his moves, Jazz added repetitive three-step pattern as he walked around the commissary, exchanging pleasantries with everyone relaxing during their off shift.
Trying to match the other’s moves wasn’t entirely successful - so Blaster watched and listened. When he retreated to his private quarters, he spent nearly twenty-breems listening to the same song, working on picking up what Jazz caught instinctively. It took nearly that long for Blaster to finally realize that timing, rhythm, beat, all intertwined - and made some melodies catchy, others easier to dance to.
Title: Beginning of the end
Characters: Mikaela Banes
Rating: K+
Fandom: Transformers: Live Action Film (2007)
Summary: “Don’t think this means I forgive you, Mister - just that I’ll be willing to listen while you make up excuses.”
Prompt: Sam Witwicky/Mikaela Banes - Bypassed
“I get the feeling I’m being ignored.” Mikaela companied after flopping into the only unoccupied cushioned seat after a sixteen-hour shift in the shop.
Snores responded.
Mikale glanced over, disgusted by the drool emerging from her dad’s open mouth. “This is what I’m talking about - nobody notices if I’m absent, or present.”
Wheelie paused the game. “I’d notice, Warrior Goddess.”
“Oh, go back to your stupid game-system.” Mikaela ordered. “I’m talking ‘bout Sam - he said he loves me - and what does he do?”
The phone rang, waking her dad. “Hello?” He muttered into the wrong end of the receiver. “It’s for you.”
Tentatively, Mikaela reached for the phone. “Hello? Sam! Hi.” Why would her boyfriend be calling on the landline? He knew her cell number.
“Dinner, Dancing and a movie? When? Great! See you in a bit.” Mikaela jumped up.
Title: Do-over
Characters: Megatron, Chromia
Rating: K+
Fandom: Transformers: Live Action Film (pre2007 movie)
Summary: Sometimes, practical advice needs to be spoken aloud, because some are too stubborn to figure out nonverbal hints.
Prompt: Megatron/Chromia - Ignored
The Decepticon Warlord did not stalk mechs hiding in shadows. Proper Decepticon warriors did not cower in fright. No prisoners successfully escaped once captured by their betters.
“Another foolhardy attempt at releasing your comrades.” Megatron grabbed the silvery-blue arm of Chromia. She struggled as he dragged her back to the dungeons. “The only reason you’res still around is because I find your fighting spirit amusing.”
Megatron rarely visited the brig - there was no need for him to interrogate prisoners. But, returning enemy warriors to their confinement cells? That, he found himself doing more and more frequently the longer he let the Autobot femme live.
“Shockwave’s expressed a need for more test subjects.” Megatron calmly informed Chromia after tossing her behind the energon bars.
The silent prisoner settled for glaring angrily at her captor.
“Abandon your comrades, leave them to their fate.” Megatron told her. “And you might be able to bring word back to Prime.”
Title: Friends, the best help in time of need.
Characters: Arcee, Sideswipe
Rating: K
Fandom: Transformers: Live Action Film (2009)
Summary: “Jazz never meant for you to shoulder this burden alone.”
Prompt: Jazz/Arcee - Keep the Team Safe
Arcee kept an optic on the rambunctious duo designated Skids and Mudflap.
Sideswipe finished giving his report to Prime, joined her. He waited in comfortable silence.
“He ordered me to keep them safe.”
“Who? Prime?” Sideswipe looked over the assembled Autobots, where Jolt was studying under Ratchet, working to repair Que, who had a bad case of accidentally self-inflicted injuries. “Prime knows that’d be an impossible order.”
“Not Prime - Jazz.”
That information was bewildering to Sideswipe. “ He promised to help when we caught up, didn’t he?”
Arcee nodded.
“Hey, you got us here -more or less intact - and we’re together.” Sideswipe faced the two youngest. “Let me help you take care of them. Jazz never meant for you to shoulder this burden alone, Arcee.”
