This Tuesday and Wednesday I got to see both Adam Lambert and Kris Allen perform. KRADAM CONCERTS FOR THE WIN
ADAM RECAP
My friend and I drove to Erie, PA for the Glam Nation Tour stop on Tuesday evening. We fought construction and stupid drivers for two hours before arriving in Erie. After a quick food run we found out seats inside the Warner theater.
Allison came on first. Her longer set was AMAZING. BEAT ME UP FTW! As usually she killed it up there. She gave me chills. If any of you have not listened to her album I would highly encourage it. She is amazingly talented and she is going to be big!
During intermission a huge all theater dance party was beginning. The Warner theater was playing excellent music. The best part was when Don't Stop Believing started. Everyone stood up and sang and danced along. It was really awesome.
By the time the FYE Remix was playing the crowd was pumped up and ready for Adam to hit the stage. Adam came on and was beautiful and amazing and RIGHT THERE. He was amazing as he always is. It was a combination of a dance party and sing along. No one can rival Tommy in a hair flipping contest, I'm sorry to say. Boy has mad hair flipping skills. And then for the encore Adam came out and did the new cover of 20th Century Boy. I couldn't believe it I was getting to hear a new cover live and first. (Although I must say that I am still
After the show, we went out to the buses. At first people were standing in three different places and then we got kicked out of the street so we moved to the back. Adam came out and came over to sign and he is so gorgeous close up. I was stunned. I wasn't able to get anything signed by him however but I did get a "Hi" so close enough. Tommy came out shortly after Adam. He hugged a lot of girls and was just all around adorable. I ended up in the middle of like four different hugs because of where I was standing and did get him to sign a random piece of paper I found in my purse. And jsyak Tommy is like really pretty.
After that we left the venue for the two hour drive back home dancing to Gaga and Adam and Kris all the way.
It was amazing and awesome. I am so glad I went. I do have some pictures but none of them are very good as my camera's zoom it really horrid and my videos I am dancing and shaking to hard to have really good picture but they do have decent audio. Not sure if I will post them or not. We shall see.
KRIS RADIO GIG RECAP
Wednesday morning I then headed home from my friend's house with a few hours before the Kris Allen radio gig with q104 in Cleveland. I had won tickets the day before which amazed me because I never have won anything. I was clearly overdue and what a perfect contest to repay me with: Getting to meet Kris Allen.
I took my dad and my little sister with me because she loves Kris and her birthday is in a few days. My dad didn't want my little sister going without him (psht overprotective parents) so he ended up coming along also.
We got to the place and it is a small recording studio. It was awesome and colorful. (I have been thinking about Audio and Record producing as my major so when I walked in and it felt just right, I knew that this idea is definitely something I should keep looking into but enough my boring life back on to the recap.)
The radio station had gotten lunch for everyone so as we were eating, Cale all of a sudden walked in the door. Me being the spaz that I am choked on my pizza. So PSA #1: Always be careful because you never know when random band member aka Surprise!Cale will walk in the door with his guitar. My dad laughed at me. I honestly don't blame him. I am a fangirling geeky spaz and proud of it.
Then it was time to go in. There were not a lot of people at all, maybe about 25-30. I expected there to be a few more but I'm glad there were not. It was small and intimate and everyone could stand up right against the stage.
The radio DJs were making jokes and asking if anyone wanted to ask Kris questions. I volunteered even though I couldn't think of anything good to ask. But I said I would come up with something. I finally ended up just asking what his favorite songs to play on tour were. He love both Alright with Me and Is It Over because he can jam on those two. But let me just say when you are asking Kris Allen a question and he is looking at you waiting all intently to answer you'll be lucky to even ask the question. Stunning is a good word to use I think.
Bonus Cale and Krale:
And my two favorite pictures just cuz I can:
Kris played four songs and there was banter. Him and Cale really have a lot of fun together as far as I could tell. He played Man in the Mirror, Alright with Me, The Truth, and LLWD.
Memorable quotes and such:
-Right before he started playing MITM he turned to Cale and was like "Wait how does this song start?"
-He told the fan trying to make out with him story. He said that he didn't even know how her tongue was in his mouth. It was like magic. Not the act but the whole event.
-He teased Cale about saying the word "birthday" weird.
-After asked what he thinks fans should know about him or questions he doesn't get asked. He said that everyone probably knows everything they need to and that "whatever you think I am, I am probably am." LOL.
After he was finished playing he signed autographs and took pictures. And the most brilliant thing I could come up with while talking to Kris Allen was that I drove my family crazy for two days in anticipation. He told me to tell them he is sorry about that. I am such a spazzzz. But my dad and my sister also were talking to him and my dad who is a huge music snob was just about on the verge of fanboying. He was telling Kris how awesome he sounded and how good his guitar playing was. I was like dad seriously?
This is my do-not-freak-out-Kris-Allen-face
Then I asked Cale for a picture which Lizzie (at least I almost positive it was her) took for us.
It was awesome and amazing and I am in shock still. If I didn't have pictures I wouldn't believe it.
KRIS ALLEN/BNL CONCERT RECAP
My mom and I went to the Kris Allen/BNL concert that evening then. PSA #2: NEVER EVER TAKE MY MOTHER TO A CONCERT. It could make the entire experience much less enjoyable.
We got to the concert about fifteen minutes before it started. There will people just wandering about and still coming in. The venue is a really awesome stage right on the water and boat can sit in the water and listen to the concerts. The lighting is really awesome at night. The way the venue is set up is that there are floor seats right in front of the stage. (which are just folding chairs) and then there is bleacher seating. We sat right in the middle of the bleacher seats. We could see the whole venue like that and had a great view of the stage. We were also able to see a people walking back and forth in the backstage area.
Angel Taylor came on stage first. I was pleasantly surprised. She have a pretty good voice and is a good pianist. I did however get a little bored halfway through her set. I think I was just anxious to hear Kris. I tried to give my mother a rundown of Kris's band beforehand because she has no idea what even he looks like but it was a failed attempted as everytime a roadie came on stage while they were setting up she asked me if that was Kris. I told her he would be the tiny one dancing in more than likely tight pants.
The band finally came out to play (while my mother asked me if each one was Kris. No mother he isn't on stage yet)
He started off with CSA which is one of my favorite songs. I was singing and dancing along.
Kris was especially bouncy. He was all over the stage and moving everywhere. He sounded amazing and he was joking around with the audience and the band. "Who thought it'd be hot in Cleveland?" Good question Kris. We would like to know the same thing because damn it was hot and humid outside. He also mentioned the boats that were in the water behind the stage and said "These people on the boats think there are getting a free show, but you all paid so you get the real one!"
He had the crowd join him in singing MITM, AWM, LLWD. A lot of people were getting into it and singing along. It was fun to watch him run from one side of the stage to the other. He had a ton of energy last night. You can tell he has fun up there, and in turn that projects to the audience and they have fun also.
He ended his set with Come Together. The band was awesome and I really wish I would have gotten to see all of KAB play a longer set.
My mother unfortunately was not as impressed as I hoped she be, but she did have good things to say about Kris which for her is at least a start.
Then BNL came out. I'm not a huge BNL fan but they were fun to watch and you couldn't help but enjoy the show. The one guy said that it was great to be playing at Nautica because it was one of the only venues left that hasn't been named after a bank or whatever. It was funny cuz it's true.
We left during the encore to avoid the the crowd of people walking down wet stairs. I tried getting my mother to chill by the buses for a while, but she is the most unadventurous, unwilling person ever so we left. It was a great concert however and I can't even believe how awesome Kris is live. Seriously if you have the chance you must go see him live.
And with that I end these recaps because I am tired and too lazy to type anymore :P
