A looong walk

I was watching a Persil advert the other day that claimed that many children spend less than 2 hours a day outside - less than prison inmates. Determined that my grandson would not be one of those children (he does actually play outside quite a lot), I suggested that he bring his ball along this weekend. I had only intended to take him over to St James' Gardens but then I needed to go into town so we went to Chavasse Park.

A 'suspicious' item had been found in John Lewis, so there was a cordon at the bottom of Hanover St, which meant we had to go the long way round. All of this added nicely to my step total without me even trying, so it's looking extremely healthy at this point. I'm expecting it to nose-dive today and tomorrow, though!

During our trip, we took a look at Game and CEX. Game have a 1Tb PS4 with two games for £330, which is OK... But I think they usually include an extra controller, which would be REALLY good. I still think hanging on a few more weeks will bring some better deals. And I'm still playing FFX-2, anyway. Didn't get near it last week. I found a couple of games that look like my kind of thing - 'Shovel Knight' which really looks fun and 'Nights of Azure' which looks interesting.

I started work on my 14th, and possibly last, fanfic. It's a songfic based on 'You've got something I need' by OneRepublic and involves Squall and Rinoa entering what can probably only be described as a suicide pact. It sounds really... morbid... when I put it like that.

No Mannerley but I have time today and tomorrow - although, of course, I'm also supposed to be looking into paid writing opportunities! Well, even if I only do some serious research, I'll have done something.

That's all for now, LJ.
