I think the only thing I had planned for this week that I haven't done was to finish Chapter 4 of FFX-2. The reason I haven't completed it is due to shenanigans involving either my copy of the game or the walkthroughs (but surely they couldn't ALL be wrong...?) but I have made progress. The walkthrough I'm using for Chapter 4 describes itself as the 'Perfect Game Walkthrough' and is set out in easy-to-follow bullet points. For the concert rehearsal scene it promises a whole percentage point. This SHOULD be about the easiest percentage point in the game - go to the Cabin, push buttons while Rikku dances, watch the scene (without skipping!), hey presto! a percentage point. Right? Wrong. I started the scene on 68% and finished it on 68%. So, I'm just carrying on, following the walkthroughs as closely as I can and we'll see what we end up with.
I had a really nice surprise (for a change!) yesterday - I've been invited to interview for the job at Liverpool Uni. My inner doubter tells me this is only because the number of applications would have been relatively low due to it being fixed term, but I don't care. An interview is an interview. Whether or not I would accept the post even if they offered it is another matter, which largely depends on how P has got on with M regarding my regrade. I have to do a 'task' (no idea what that is but I'm guessing it's computer based) and a presentation on how to run a project. Falling off a log, anyone? I am actually quite excited about it all.
Clearing out the garden cupboard yielded some more stuff for church, so we'll try to get that over today.
Otherwise, my only plan is to clean the kitchen and play some more FFX-2 - grandson permitting! Possibly go over to St James' Gardens again and have a kick-about with the grandson and/or make a start on the presentation for the interview. Actually, it's still possible I'll finish Chapter 4 before I go back to work, if I can get in some serious game time today and tomorrow.
I also need to sort out my emails but I think that's a job for another weekend. If the weather's nice, I want to take the grandson to Chester next weekend. I've never taken him and he's nearly 10! We'll have lots of fun scrambling round the old walls.
So, I'm a little bit achy and tired but it's been a good week with lots of stuff done that needed to be done. Bye for now, LJ!
