Happiness is...
- planting plants
- buying plants
- planning more plants
:D
So, I have a whole week off work and the plan is to get the front garden sorted. I went into town this morning and picked up some bushy-type things at the Pound Shop - one of the roses and some of the other bare-root stuff we got last year are still growing, so I have fairly high hopes. Then I went to Wilkinson's and got some gritty stuff and a bag of compost for the clematis that I didn't plant last Monday. Bought a Saveaway ticket, jumped on a bus and came home. Dropped off said purchases, grabbed a cuppa and then set off again.
This time I got a bus to Speke and wandered around B&Q looking at lots of pretty plants. I ended up with a tree and three bushes - one of them is a Weigela but a different sort to the one in the back garden, and one is a drop-dead gorgeous black, cut-leaf Elder (which is my b-day present from Billy). Came home and planted the clematis according to the instructions from some gardening web-site with the plant Debbie got me to shade its roots. Then, feeling really keen and eager, I decided to tidy up the garden cupboard - and didn't do a bad job, either! In the process, I discovered some more bare-root plants I'd bought last year but never got round to planting, so I put them in some of the pots that were vacated when I planted the new bed last week.
Tomorrow, I will finish digging the patch I started last year and, if I have sufficient time and energy, weed the rest of the patch and put in the new plants from today. I suspect, however, that the weeding and planting will happen on Wednesday.
In FF6 news, I am getting ready to face the World of Ruin *dramatic music* I am currently getting everyone levelled up to Level 30, plus learning as many spells as possible - not that I really use anything other than 'Cure' :p When I first played 7, and especially when I first played 8, I used magic all the time. Now, it just seems much easier to smack the monsters over the head. Also, 6 has all the other skills like Blitz and Sketch - and when you have a Gengi Glove and two mighty swords, magic just seems a bit unnecessary. The exception, to some extent, is 12. Being able to set up gambits for Cure, Esuna, Shell, etc takes out all the hassle of scrolling through umpteen spells just to find either a) the character you are currently on doesn't have the particular spell you want or b) the monster has eaten you while it was waiting for you to get on with it! Oh, but I do have to mention the Junction system in 8 - Junctioning 'Sleep' to Rinoa's attack on the Ragnarok meant that those three-legged things that come in pairs were a piece of cake!
Well, that's life at the moment. Toodles, LJ!
