Happiness is...
- birthday chocolates!
- pretty plants
- getting my last assignment finished
- making some progress on my 'Memories' fic
- being home before 5pm
- looking forward to a whole week off
Haven't posted in a while - not because there was nothing to say but just because I really didn't have the time. Now that my assignments are all done, though, I'll be back to boring you all senseless :p
Monday was a Bank Holiday. It rained, of course. But I dug a corner patch out of the handkerchief-sized lawn in the back garden and planted it with some plants we already had and a couple I bought with birthday money - including a pink magnolia. I've always wanted a magnolia and now I have one - yay! I ached all week, but I have something to show for it.
Tuesday and Wednesday evenings I had churchy things going on. The good news is that Gina has agreed to be our other Churchwarden and I'm resigning next year. I'm counting the months!
I also chatted to my boss at some point (this week is just a blur) - he confirmed that my shiny new job will happen. However, he's worried he's not going to get the budget he wanted, which suggests it'll be a Grade 6 (which is what I'm on at the moment) rather than a Grade 7 (which I was, obviously, hoping for). Still, a 6 is better than the 5 I was stuck on last year. I shared with him my thoughts on the exams I'd helped with. An awful lot of stuff was hand written that I thought could have been typed and printed. I'm also disappointed with being only one of two people who volunteered to help. He agreed with both points - particularly the second.
Any other spare time I managed to find was spent working on my assignment. Which is now all done and handed in. It's not perfect but it should get me a pass - which is all I want. Well, of course, I want to pass well... but a pass will do.
I have plans for the summer, including getting on with 'Holding on to the memory'. I did a bit more of Chapter 4 on MySpace today. Before I write any more, though, it would probably be a good idea to do some plotting... :D
Well, this post is long and rambling - just as you'd expect, really! Toodles, LJ.
