It always amazes me how a bit of rest and the company of family and friends can cause a complete 180 on my mood. Friday I was suffering from a bout of frustration regarding being still ill (it was a pity party of 1, and I was in a downward spiral), while yesterday and today have been much better.

I'm nearing the end of week 2 of this bronchitis (or broncho-pneumonia as the doctor called it), and I'm getting REALLY tired of this pesky cough. When my grandfather died 2 years ago, my grandmother couldn't stay in her house any longer and was moved into a retirement home. Because she'd rather her stuff be given to family instead of being sold, I inherited some furniture (and other miscellaneous items). One of these items was her dining table and chairs. I really enjoy cooking. Trying out new recipes, adapting things when I'm missing an ingredient or two, filling the kitchen with sweet smells... these are all things that make me smile.
