So, today is our second anniversary. Michael is out of state, helping his dad with a car project. Typical. He's been there over a week, but he's promised to be home this afternoon. We'll see!
I've been mostly keeping busy, trying to get the house organized. We never really moved in properly, and now it's such a mess! It's improving, though -- last week I finally finished getting the entire downstairs looking reasonable (if you ignore a few piles) and the upstairs is a lot better than it's been. My mom has been helping while Michael is away, both of which make it go a lot faster!
We did make it to Christine's wedding, which was of course very lovely. The entire ceremony was beautiful. I'd forgotten to point out to Michael that the choir was behind us in the choir loft, and he had no idea they were there until he heard them! It was wonderful to hear Collegium again, and Michael still doesn't believe I used to sing in a group that good. I had taken several days off work, and we took the train down, which turned out to be an excellent way to travel with a baby. It took over 24 hours, but we had reserved a small room, and meals were included, and all of us enjoyed it. Much less stressful than flying.
David's two front lower teeth came in over the last month or so, and it's probably a matter of days before the two uppers come in. He did have a few weeks' break there between the worst of the teething, though! He isn't quite walking, but he will sometimes take a few steps if he has one hand on something. He prefers to be holding on with both hands. No real words yet, either, but he often seems to think he's talking! He's got something to say about most everything.
I've been taking baby pictures, but still haven't gotten them online. This time my excuse is a little better -- I haven't had them developed! I've been using the "real" one because I haven't seen my digital camera in weeks... I'm blaming Michael. He appropriated my old digital camera, and when I got another one he decided the battery on the first one wasn't working properly and appropriated the new one, and loses it a few times a month. Not that he admits it, of course! Ah, well. One of these days I'm going to buy a camera that he's not allowed to touch. At least he doesn't mess with my 35mm camera -- he knows he's in big trouble if anything happens to it!
Well, it's about time to get back to work. Oh, and speaking of work, I almost forgot -- I don't have to go back on rotation! I'll just be working days for the foreseeable future. Such a relief!
