The Simpsons Movie

On a happier front, however, I have finally seen a movie of the Simpsons!! I have been waiting a decade for this. I remember rumors of one dating all the way back to 8th grade. As the resident expert of all things Simpsons (at least, the first decade worth) and a total nerd who can practically recite all episodes from those first 10 seasons from scratch, this was a...large deal to me, to put it mildly. It is a shame that I had to see it in as small a theater as I did, but the audience was pretty good regardless. Most of the theater even sang along with the Spider-Pig bit. It seemed most hadn't heard the middle line (which wasn't in the main trailer with the bit), 'cause everyone went quiet there and then went *nuts* for that line (can he swing, from a web? No he can't, he's a pig. :-D) Anyway, absolutely loved it. Just flat out hilarious, tons of fun and a big smile on my face for the entire next 24 hours after it. Escapism from my woes at its finest! Ultimately, it was just plain...satisfying. I can't have asked for more than that. So thank you, Simpsons, for almost two decades worth of (continued!) laughter.
