Swing and a miss
So that new woman in my life? Yeah, not gonna happen. Or rather, whatever was happening has fallen away. Nothing specific really happened, but she was implying that she had issues going on (involving an ex, not emotionally able, etc, etc) and wanted to back off from what we were doing, but leave the door open for the future (she flat out said that she doesn't want to "just be friends" but just doesn't want to be more right now). Now, i'm not the kind to be stringed along and wait for future opportunities so much anymore. That's not to say I intend to burn that bridge or anything, but I'm pretty much writing her off regardless. If something happens later, it'll be a pleasant surprise. But I'm not expecting anything. Seems safer (and smarter) that way. So the Dry Spell of Doom resumes--it just had a two week tease in the midst of it. Yet another swing and a miss. At least I can't say I never try. But after the last string of strikeouts, it's getting harder to drag my ass up to the plate, no doubt. But there's really nothing I can do--that's just how the game, or whatever, is played, isn't it?
