I just KNOW everyone has missed me terribly
but this is the first time I have had to get online for any significant amount of time. So I thought an update would be in order.
I got here safely enough on Wednesday, and I have been floating ever since. For those of you who don't know, my mother is a healer, in the metaphysical sense. She basically works on people's auras for a living. So coming to visit her is always a trip, in the head sense. It's not enough that we've always seemed to have this weird psychic connection with each other, but actually being in her house where she works on people is usually beyond intense. It's like being high for days and days.
Anyway, I've done a fair amount of hanging out with my little sister (hiya hugskitties19!), burned some CDs with her, and shared some music with her. She has an interesting collection and it should be fun seeing what kind of music mixes I can come up with now. (confidential to geminigirl: I have some dyke tunes now...)
My mother and I, and her boyfriend, went to the beach today. I don't remember the name of the beach, only that it's south of here (here being Little Silver NJ), and had a wild experience at the aquarium. We went in, kind of out of curiosity, and probably just being who we are, and being together, we were tuning into some of the fish. It was wild. (I have come to kind of expect these things when I am with my mother.) It was like we were aware of some of the fish being aware of us, if that makes any sense. They all seemed to come up to us (and nobody else) like they were saying hello. There was one fish in particular, in the shark tank (but not one of the sharks) that spent a good 20 minutes bouncing off the glass next to my elbow, like he was really trying to give me a playful nibble. I moved my arm, and he moved with me. It tickled actually. This fish had the same kind of clarity in his eyes that one would expect from a dog or a cat, the same kind of connection to me when he looked at me. I didn't know fish could be aware like that.
So anyway, hugskitties19 and her new boyfriend, Chris (whom I approve of, even if he seems totally intimidated by me) are coming over tonight, and we are having grilled burgers (for the carnivores) and eggplant (for the herbivores). Then I have no idea what we are doing tomorrow (probably going to talk my mother into working on me), but Monday I am going to hang around to meet this one guy that's coming by for a healing from my mother. I have heard a lot about this guy, about how he and my mother dated ages ago, and I am curious to meet him just to get an impression of him.
Monday we are also going to do the obligatory New Age Weird Thing (there is usually something each visit that she is checking out, and this trip is no exception). There is a local woman who has this little tub you soak your feet in, and the water is magnetically charged, switching back and forth between positive and negative charge, and it's supposed to draw out all the toxins from your body thru your feet. (The woman claims that you need something like 12 treatments to completely clear your body out of toxins, but at $50 a pop, I don't think so.) My mother's boyfriend tried it, and said that some joint pain he's had in his knee cleared up right away (and he was pretty skeptical about it at first) so I think I am going to try it out.
Anyway, it looks like I will probably be heading home on Tuesday, getting in Tuesday night. I don't know if I am going to log on before then, but if I don't, I will be catching up on email and LJ Tuesday night. I am so glad I finally made it to NJ; it's great to hang out with family again.
