I think that as a whole, our age group underestimates the power of belonging. Yeah, we hear everyone preach about the detriments of conformity and how it is a perversion of true inner freedom and inhibits us from finding our true selves. But in reality, those who find themselves in some PLACE in the midst of a group of people who do not allow you to belong, who do not take you in (or even worse, may have taken you in at one point and then neglect to do so now), those are the people who are facing a serious detriment. Those are the people who question their ownselves and find themselves at their own wits end because of this inablity to be accepted. What a wretched, wretched fate.

But isn't it something that we all inevitably go through at some point?

FIVE BUCKS FOR ANYONE WHO CAN GUESS WHAT/WHO IT IS I AM TALKING ABOUT...

Onto a completely different tangent...

The song that I have come to have a sudden fascination with is the new song "Cool" by Gwen Stefani. The lyrics are simple enough I suppose, but the whole concept of the song itself is I guess what is so appealing to me.

Hmmm... "After all that we've been through, I know we're cool..."

Are we?
