What should I be doing right now? Sleeping. What am I doing instead? Self-evident. I feel like I didn't have much relaxation time this weekend. Granted, I spent this entire morning in bed half sleeping and half watching tv, but that's cuz I was feeling yucky. But at least half the weekend was spent trying to fix computer stuff. Well anyhow, I'll do my usual chronoligical updating.
Well actually, let me start with last week. Tuesday I Ken (old Radford buddy) was in town on tour with Avenged Sevenfold. My roommate came with me to meet Ken in Secaucus, where we just kinda hung out, ate at Houlihan's, and watched a movie on one of the tour busses. Ken does lighting, so some of the people I met were other tech crew, as well as merchandising. They were all around my age, maybe a little younger, but actually very polite and easy to get along with. I mean, by outward appearance, I guess as influenced by their generation and also the type of bands they work with, most people would expect them to be rowdy or without manners. But of course the saying about judging a book by its cover comes into play, cuz they were way more comfortable to hang out with than most guys I meet from this area. Not so ulterior motive-ish. Or maybe that's cuz I was coming as Ken's friend so they didn't have any use in trying anything anyways, except to show a good impression of themselves. Well anyhow, that was a relaxing night, and it was good to see Ken again. And if I ever see a can of Dr. Thunder, I'll immediately think back to that night. Dr. Thunder...as I said on the bus, if I had a "toy", that's what I'd name it, lol.
I feel like I did SOMETHING Friday, but I really can't recall. Maybe I didn't. Moving on....
Saturday I spent half the day trying to fix Norton Anti-Virus. I'd started getting these errors for ccCommon and found out that it was a Norton issue. I called my dad and he wanted me to try to fix it first by using windoctor or something like that, but it didn't help. Then I came to realize Norton anti-virus wasn't working, and somehow internet security wasn't even being recognized by the computer. Finally I just reinstalled everything and now it's all good. All that and it expires in 3 months and I'll have to get the new versions. I mean, dad usually copies a disk for me of what he has, but if he doesn't have anything I can use when the time comes, I don't have a problem buying...though hopefully on a rebate.
Saturday night Jacob, Jay, Kamiel, Brian, Nancy (+friend), and I went to the city for Jacob's bday. We went to this hookah place that claimed they had a dancefloor, but it turned out to be a tiny place with the aisle serving as said "dancefloor". We decided to just eat there and get hookah then go somewhere else, but after a few drinks and a belly dancer we were having fun and didn't end up leaving til 2am (and paying a 600$ bill!). We stopped in a kareoki bar for a sec but weren't feeling it so we headed to Sin Sin which was playing some great old school music. It's motivated me to form an outing to that hotel bar in Somerset that I went to with Nancy that was playing old soul/gospel house music. Anyhow I think I might've gotten home around 4am.
Sunday was partially spent recouperating from the night before. Throbbing headache when I woke up which tylenol eventually eased. I finally felt ok enough at 1pm to get up and start doing stuff. That's when I realized my mp3 player wasn't syncing with my computer...and how convenient, being a few days before my trip to Texas. I tried reinstalling the Zen software but no luck. I had to temporarily give up so I could meet up with Nancy, Vern, and their friend for a Thai dinner. Came back home and continued my sync repair. And for the first time ever, going to the company's online support faq site helped resolve the issue! My Zen is syncing and charging as I write, so I should be good to go for my trip to TX on Thursday. Finished up a second load of laundry just now, and I guess that means it's time for bed.
