low blood sugar strikes again!!!

May 06, 2007 15:40

Standing on the escalator in the mall I thought it felt like the stairs were breaking, moving in a weird jerky motion, no, turns out that was me. I woke up on the floor in front of the Discovery Channel Store, surrounded by EMTs, firefighters, and mall security, not to mention a nice little passer-by crowd, I was covered in blood, drenched in sweat ( Read more... )

Ronda!! I don't like hearing these things! It makes me worried for you. But I'm glad you're all right. I don't want my roomie for NOLA to not feel well! :)

oh i'm sure I will be fine in NO. My blood sugar generally gets low alot, it shouldn't, but it does. Just not this low this fast. If this becomes some thing that is happening alot over the next week then I may have to worry about it but it is just one of those things that diabetics have to go through sometimes. I will just have to keep a closer eye on everything oveer the next few days.
Don't worry, I will be fine :)
Thank you though :)

God I hate that Ronda. We will ALL take care of you in New Orleans and make sure that NO ONE sticks you 4 times.

*fussing begins*

Now, what had you eaten for lunch 30 minutes before? Carbs? Simple sugars that rise and then plummet fast? How much protein was there?

Perhaps we need to rethink going places by ourselves in the car on days that we've had a spinning workout or something equally as strenuous.

*hugs again*

Ok Mom, I had lots of protien and lots of carbs. I had an Egg Beaters omlett w/ swiss cheese and 3 maple sausages *mmm the taste of Maple* and rye toast and home fries. Lots of food and it was good.
It's not like this is an event that takes place alot, it is just a thing that diabetics have to deal with now and then. It is scary to be at the mercy of others when you are totally out of it but so far I have always had good people help me/find me.
Now as far as not going places by myself... there is no way in hell I will let the fact that I am diabetic dictate my indepence. I completely understand your concern and thank you for it but just like I have for the last 12 years I will continue to check my blood sugar, though perhaps more often on spinning days, until my insulin intake/weight loss get evened out. Don't worry about NO, I'm sure every thing will be fine. With all the food planns that I have seen taking place already I can't imagine low blood sugar will be a problem, lol.

Well I'm pretty sure I know what it is. Being diabetic it isn't unheard of for things like this to happen and yes it is scary but all it is is a matter checking my blood sugar until I can find a pattern and adjust my insulin from there, an dperhaps give mall security a heads up next time I visit, lol.

I couldn't beleive it when she pulled one out and told me to try it on. I figured 'yeah right, whatever' and it fit! I was shocked.
Yeah the blood... I don't think I have ever seen that much of my blood in one place, like a little puddle, lol *is washing blood out of clothes now*

seriously though, I have never been able to find a normal strapless bra for my size. Yay you!

Boo for the massive blood pool - make sure to wash it in cold water to get the stains out. *wibbles a little for you*

well this bra is from Felina and apparently it has 'Memory Foam", which intriues me. I want to tell it something important and see if it remembers it, lol.
