Poppies, Ferhat Gercek and Assange.
Notorious and revered blogger keresaspa asked why my dark blue £300 plus suit has been replaced. Conspiracy theories abound in cyberspace but the reason is that it is time to propagate poppies. As I wrote on 4 Nov 2009 it is a symbol of the fallen. I wear mine as my family incurred a lot of fatalities in the Great War and even a few in the fight against fascism (which pisses me off to see the UK as a de facto police state). Proof of this is the extradition to Sweden (and ultimately to the US) of Julian Assange. One sees he was not granted anonymity (surely a breach of the human rights code) whilst Anna Ardin (CIA) and Sofia Wilen (Bunny boiler) were.
Now to Turkey and the case of Ferhat Gercek, whose injuries at the hands (boots and bullets) of Turkish police rival anything we have in Blighty. If you have a minute to spare then perhaps you could consider signing the Amnesty petition?
