Or why I support Mansfield Town. It has been a funny old day. Firstly I had my dream job dangled in front of me but to use an Americanism "Money talks and bullshit walks". I am in the process of revising (for the umpteenth time) my Ph.D proposal. News today that the U.K government wants (possibly) yet another postponement in the implementation of Marper led me to send a rather terse e-mail to Harriet at the F.C.O. The fact that I cc'ed it to one of the country's foremost civil liberties activists has got Harriet in a bad mood. Spent the day re-examining the Kiszko case, frantically trying to cite references and generally being an academic manque (unpaid).
Now to soccer. A throwaway remark by an American pal led me to look up some stock images on Mansfield Town F.C where I came across a logo that is not terribly polite about Keith Haslam who was involved in a hostile buyout.
Mansfield Town shirts (XXXL) are an eye watering £40. Guys, it is not as if you are Tottenham or Real Madrid.
