Year 1 - Autumn - Jackson
Lucas here. Quinn and Callan have just had a huge argument
and have been stomping about the cottage all day. Thankfully things have quietened down a bit and I've got a few minutes to update the diary.
Rose has been a fractious baby. Quinn finally seems to be getting the hang of motherhood but I don't think she is enjoying it. I think she is frustrated and disappointed because she had thought she would be a natural mother. Callan just doesn't have a clue... not much else to say there. He's been trying to study medicine but it's hard with a crying baby in the house. I don't think he's got very far.
A gold lamp appeared in the garden one day, it must have been Scout, she had one in her garden and thought one of us put it there as a joke. She probably thought it was Quinn's idea, it's the kind of silly thing she would do.
I've been busy with my workbench. I built a cot for Rose and one for River too, and Thorn brought back an old jack-in-the-box that I managed to fix up for Rose, she was a bit unsure when she first got it but now it's her favourite toy.
Rose is a smart little girl. I've been teaching her to speak, she insists on calling me daddy which is quite embarassing, it seems Lucas is a bit too hard for her to master yet. She's almost walking too. We're going to have to think about some kind of plan for educating Rose and River, I guess a home education is okay for now, but its something we will need to think about for the future. I will bring it up with Scout when I next see her.
I can hear Quinn and Callan shouting at each other again, seems like they haven't sorted things out after all. Callan got mad because me and Quinn were sleeping in the same bed. He's accusing her of cheating on him! Ridiculous! We have shared the same bed many times since we moved into the cottage, I don't know why he has decided to have a problem with it now. There is obviously something else going on but I don't have a clue what it is. I better go, I hear them heading this way.
