So far the only change I've noticed is that there is a very *specific* scenario that keeps playing out in my head instead of just generalized thoughts. ... It's just there whenever I think about the thing that I need/want to do. I feel bad that I've evidently missed the thing that caused you to embark upon a change, but it's really awesome to see that you're noticing a difference. I think it's okay for our brains to fall back on specific scenarios--mine certainly does--when stressed because it's easier for us to recognize them as the product of stress and not reality. Our brains have ruts, like a bike path, and when we get buffeted about by life and by brain chemicals our bike wheels fall into the rut and we think the patterns of thought we're programmed to think. For me, those patterns of thought are really useful because I can usually ignore them through sheer familiarity, and if I can't ignore it, that's an important red flag

I'm sorry that the PTA is going downhill like it is. It's so obvious you put a load of effort into it. It's a shame they haven't got more people like you.
Yeah, I'm really sad about it, but I'm also sort of resigned. It's been a slow, long road of knowing it was coming. Having to be the one to pull the trigger is the hard part.
