Back to the daily grind, yet again. I did have a nice break, though, even with the drama from my ridiculous ex-roommate.
Saturday-Sunday of Break: Kerry came in town to visit. He, Mike, and I hung out, played darts (on the new dart board Mike bought, which is awesome), ate some good food.
Monday-Wednesday of Break: Did some work for classes, hung out, took care of the roommate situation. Wednesday night, Dan, Kendra, and Terri came over to hang. Kendra and I had a really nice time talking. It was good to see everyone before our trip.
Thursday of Break, AKA Thanksgiving: Mike and I went over the my Mom and Dad's house. My grandfather and his wife couldn't make the trip because they've both got the flu, or something like it, so it was just Mom, Dad, Jeff, Mike and me. We all had a really nice time. It's always good to spend time with family. Around three o'clock, Mike and I left and met up with Pete (Mike's brother) and the three of us drove to Pittsburgh to visit Jon and Shannon. Arrived around 1:30 a.m. Friday. Played some euchre, went to bed.
Friday: Slept in. Ate at Uncle Sam's. Yummy. Went to Paul's Record Store where Mike picked up some new stuff for us: American Analog System, The Go! Team, Unwound, and another Built to Spill album. Awesome. I started to feel like crap, so I went back to bed while the boys hung out. I woke up in just enough time to go out to a really crappy dance club. One of Jon's friends won a free happy hour at this place called "Bash." We left after twenty minutes. We couldn't take the Kelly Clarkston. We ended up at a bar called Brillobox, where we drank Smithwick's and played more euchre (are you sensing a pattern yet?) We went home, drank more, and played more euchre. I went to bed around one. The boys stayed up until 7.
Saturday: Kazansky's:) My favorite jewish deli. Food there is delicious. We hung out until about 5:30 and then we picked up Shannon from the airport (yay!) and went to dinner at the Sharp Edge. (I love Shannon. We had such a nice time talking at dinner while the boys played darts.) We all went home and played more cards (euchre and poker), and then we all went to bed fairly early.
Sunday: Woke up, packed up, went to breakfast at a greasy spoon that Jon and Shannon love, but I think is really grodie. Headed out. I got a lot of work done on the road, which I am happy about. Finally arrived home (after another ten hours), unpacked, did the laundry and the dishes, cleaned up in general (with Mike's help, of course), and watched The Duce! (Mike and I have this horrible train-wreck obsession with "Breaking Bonaduce.") and finished my book, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon. I've read it already, only re-reading it for class, it amazes me how depressed it made me, even the second time around. There is this exquisite sadness at the end.
Monday: Back to the usually scheduled program, but only for another two weeks. I'm so excited for break. Actually, I'm excited for christmas, but I digress:) More soon.
