001|The Odd Couple|Locked to blossomingland

The color scheme of this apartment built for two was rather neutral and dark with the exception of the occasional splash of burgundy. The layout consisted of two bedrooms, one bathroom, entry way, kitchen, and a living room. Large windows offered the view of downtown. It was within walking distance of the mall and a lovely park. The only draw back ( Read more... )

And boy, did she despise the strings attached. Not only was it a 'being' of Darkness, no, it was the goddamn Door to Darkness in human form. The mere thought disgusts her, even more than having previously been genderbent by a stupid curse cast on her by some stupid witch she once worked under.

...Stupid Darkness.

Riku rolled her eyes, merely glancing at the other as she walked down the stairs. Maybe, just maybe, he wouldn't notice so long as she didn't speak.

“I’m touched that you came to see me.” The door had been locked so someone entering was either his room mate, or the city taking pity on him. Riku was excellent with sneaking around, maybe from spending time with those obsessed with him, but DtD had the ability to sense emotions, darkness and his sister. The little secret that won’t be shared with his guest was that was the extent of his abilities. It was the sacrifice he made to follow her.

“Not going to bite you, princess.” Spoke as he closed the book. One hand held up to wave her over. “Come. Sit. We should discuss these…arrangements.” If she didn’t take his offer he might see about other means of persuading her. That look Riku must be getting sick of was on his face as he finally turned to look at her. “Unless you prefer a different room..?”

Riku rolled her eyes, crossing her arms. Like she really had that much of a choice at the present. DtD was right about how she'd gotten so good at sneaking around. Sadly, it never seemed to work on this one and she seriously doubted the answer as to how DtD managed it would ever be revealed. Stupid gods.

However, that little nickname made her eye twitch. Princess? Was he out of his mind? "We should..." Riku muttered in disgust and agreement, moving a little closer. The scent of the source of all Darkness... she wasn't sure what to think about it. Then again, at least this beat Vanitas' predicament of waking up married to Niveus.

Riku begrudgingly sat down, attempting to keep a calm and level head. "...But before that, just let me say I despise being called 'princess.'"

She could only take a few reminders of her...predicament, after all.

Fail response. *Flops on* door2drkness November 2 2010, 01:31:48 UTC
She held his attention every step of the way. Despite the witching basically pining for what he was, he should really thank her. He mused mentally over if it was one of those fairy tale curses or just something she did for her own enjoyment. Leaning back as he closed his eyes, a corner of his lip lifted as he listened to her voice. It was odd to hear in comparison to her old voice.

“Any other despised things I should know about?” Whether he listened to such requests was a whole different matter entirely. One eye opened as he tilted his head to the side. This being human thing was interesting. As a door all he could do in response to people is tempt, trap, bestow and spit out heartless.

Not as fail as this. XD *flopped on* blossomingland November 2 2010, 04:13:35 UTC
It was more than likely the latter, as far as Riku was concerned. That said, she was attempting not to try and punch the smug bastard sitting across from her in the face. Yes, she realized that her voice was different. ...She missed being male so much right now.

But at his words, Riku rolled his eyes. If fate had an itunes shuffle, it would be playing "I Hate Everything About You."

"Like you would listen if I told you."

Considering he likes to piss people off, punching him might be a turn on. And the smug bastard couldn’t just wait to see when Riku got reminded of her predicament in the shower.
At her words he offered a light shrug. Riku caught on quickly. If she had voiced her dislike for DtD or put down some ground rules, he might bother her all the more. “I might feel generous...” He paused to let her churn that around her brain. “…if you are.” Look, more strings. DtD was up on his feet now just to get close to Riku, to touch a strand of that pretty hair.

Which is why she still restrained herself. ...and goddammit, she knew that look. It was all too similar to the one so many villains gave her when they couldn't wait to see her crash and burn.

And of course She caught on quickly; she had to in the past to continue playing Xanatos Speed Chess with a certain Heartless bastard, after all. With the twitch of an eye, Riku batted away the hand. "That depends." She hated being the puppet of anyone, much less this particular figure. "Your terms?"

She wasn't agreeing to anything without knowing outright what she was walking into.

He was no puppeteer. People sought him in some vain attempt to control him and his sister both. All he did was grant them a bit of what they craved, and allowed them to be their own downfall. These children of his sister’s were a mystery to him just as he could be to them at times.

When his hand was smacked away from the pretty hair he canted his head to the side before settling with touching her hand. “My terms are…” Little grin present as he let his hand drop back to his side. “...Your company for now.” Maybe he'll try to figure them out just a bit to see why they were so appealing to his Kingdom Hearts.

Which meant nothing to her; she never wanted control over Kingdom Hearts or the Door to Darkness, just the power to protect his friends. ...and boy, did that turn out well. Life was the mystery, concealing things all so cleverly from gods and humans alike.

Riku's eye twitched again; she had to admit...it seemed interesting, but- ...She wasn't going to allow herself to finish that sentence. "...Fine." And maybe she'll try to figure out why mankind was either drawn to or frightened of the Darkness. Just maybe.

Even if it was tempting to try to push to see how much he could get away with at present, he shuffled away the desire. DtD wants to enjoy this little treat slowly. His movements were graceful as he moved his hand to open up his palm as if to receive something.

“Your turn, my key-bearer” Turning on his heel he then headed back to where his book was as he scooped it up. “Unless you want the same?” Brows raised as he glanced back to Riku, the favored smirk there still. Darkness rested the book against his side as he studied the green eyed girl.

No matter what form - or in this case, gender - Riku took, her intentions always remained the same. Thus, she kept a level gaze on the humanoid Door.

"Merely to recover that which has been lost." Her masculinity, his friend Sora. Riku kept a neutral expression, even if her heart was in turmoil over the state of her friend.

Predatory gait took him to the book shelf to return his book to its home for now, listening to Riku’s voice. Straight to the point wasn’t she. A finger trailed across the row of books before he settled on what to do finally. Her. He rested his elbows on the back of the couch she occupied as he gave her a thoughtful look.
“Let’s go.” Sideway nod to the front door. “Out.” He wanted to watch Riku in public, and check out the City they were stuck in. Maybe he’ll find some other kind of amusement. "...unless you prefer entertaining me here."
