Im in the process of writing this truly horrific appellant brief on everyones favorite topic of material misrepresentations in security sales by a third party. Partway through my research i took a break to read the example they gave us. While reading it I note that although its a brief for the appellant there are points where it looks like they are arguing for the the party that won in the lower court. Appellant, Appellee, they are easy to confuse so my mind goes immediately to "Oh God, i just spent the last week researching cases for the other side of the argument!" After which i freak out for a bit then tear through my room trying to find my copy of Blacks Law Dictionary. After finding it sitting on my desk in plain sight i flip through it to find that i have been doing the right research (well, the right side anyways).
THe lesson: Friends don't let friends do security law.
