I don't know Kuroshitsuji (I mean, I know what it looks like, but I've never had the urge to read/watch it), but I like these, especially Checkmate -- though you're right, that's one out-of-tune canon. XD; But the melody is good, esp. the chorus! And I like that it's a waltz.
By the way, on the topic of musicals -- do you happen to know Sakura Taisen? I know I was on a crusade to send people the music from the stage shows about four years ago, and so I probably sent some stuff to you at that time, but I've started listening to it again recently and am really into it. ♥ There's not much in the way of dancing in the performances, but the music can be prettyepic.
Wow, I really liked the Shin Saiyuki one. That was very, very epic and awesome sounding. I never knew they had live performances for Sakura Wars!
I always thought it was just a harem-style video game but it looks like they did a lot more with it. Thanks for showing me these XD. Do they just play the theater parts? Or do they actually go in character and blow things up with their mechs as well? :P
I'm glad you liked it! Once I stop being lazy I want to make an mp3-share post, since I downloaded a big torrent of songs a couple of weeks back.
Yeah, it's actually really elaborate -- they've been doing live performance since the mid-nineties, I think? From what I understand, most of the shows are just the theater portion, with the "characters" (played by the actual seiyuu) putting on performances Takarazuka-style, with a main story and/or a revue portion, and some in-character sketches in between. There are also image albums and radio dramas that get released every so often. No mecha fighting as far as I know. :P
