Premise
Pareidolia. A city built on an expanse of water, made up of white and grey Renaissance buildings some of which reach high above the rest of the city. Bridges pass over the rivers running through the city, connecting the different districts.

The city is relatively quiet, with few inhabitants - enough to run the shops and make the city look lived in at least. The people tend to keep to themselves, especially when it comes to outsiders, but they are kind and helpful when approched. Most of the time anyway.

But Pareidolia isn't what it appears.

It is, however, all there is. There are boats at the docks around the city, but they will only take you from one side to the other, no matter how far out you think you've paddled. You can climb to the top of the tallest building and see that all that is beyond the city is blue expanse and sometimes maybe you can see a glimpse of something else, but you can never be sure.

Regardless of what - or where - Pareidolia is, you have found yourself here all of a sudden and you can tell that something isn't quite right. You have none of your personal possessions apart from the clothes on your back, and strangest of all, you discover a number tattooed on your forearm. The people of the city, if asked, tell you they don't know what you're talking about, that they can't see the number. But you'll soon discover that there are others like you.

The question is - what do the numbers mean, and why exactly are you here? Perhaps the answer will become clear soon enough.
