So. Went in blind.
Haven't read anyone else's reactions yet.
This is what the original ending should have been.
I've played through two endings. Two more to go, but I don't feel like going through the slow-mo again just yet. I want the second ending to sink in a bit.
First, I shot the kid.
I was going to choose synthesis - because the way Timmy described it, it was less suck than I'd originally imagined, and because BeauPiep chose Control and Smith chose Destroy. It was Mag's turn to choose Synthesis.
I was about halfway down the ramp, when I turned, and said to D, "Ok. Synthesis. But I'm gonna shoot the kid because I can."
*blam*
"VERY WELL THEN."
Whaaaaa?!
*YES*
After I finished watching that ending, and being very happy that shooting the kid DID SOMETHING, I restarted the mission, slogged through the slow-mo (the slow drives me batty) and unskippable cutscenes, and chose Synthesis for real this time.
Two words: Krogan Babies! Eeeeeeeeeeeee!
(D laughed, because I did squee when I saw them.)
I'll do Control and Destroy later - or else I'll look them up on youtube.
Ok. Couldn't wait. Looked them up. The Control one was unintentionally hilarious due to some audio issues the person was having.
But holycrap that was my headcanon! Right down to the reapers rebuilding the relays. I might have to take BeauPiep through it, just for screenshotting and my headcanon being jossed.
So, initial impressions? MUCH better. Much much much much.
