Knight and I had a good time on Ocracoke Island today. The trip across on the ferry was a little long (over two hours each way) but fun.
One of the fun and completely unexpected aspects was Knight's TomTom (navigation system) which he augmented by downloaded John Cleese's voice to a long while ago.
We're used to "John" having fun phrases in store, but had thought we'd heard them all until today. Some of "John's" favorites are "Bear right... beaver, left", the less-often heard "Sharp right - Ow!", the always amusing "Turn around when possible, so that you will be directing your vehicle in the opposite direction from which you are currently directing it," or the most-often heard, "You have reached your destination. You may get out of the car, but I'm not going to help you carry your bags. From now on, you're on your own."
Today, upon preparing to drive Knight's car on board the ferry, "John" suprised us with this little gem:
"Take the ferry, and when you get onto the ferry please leave the car, because frankly our relationship is not as good as I'd hoped and I think a little time separate would do us both good."
That John - you just never know what he'll come up with next!!
