Thanks for the input. I wasn't crazy about Rebel Angels either, it was one of those 'I don't get what the big deal is' books for me. I actually forgot I read it and bought it twice which, understandably, pissed me off. I think if a author is that ummemorable I should save my money. ;)

I do like Pratchett but only as an audiobook. I have discovered that reading humor doesn't scan for me but listening to it (especially when the reader is so good) is great fun. Maybe I should try China Meville as an audiobook and watch the New York State scenery passing on by.

Alright, Swamplandia & Devil in the White City are in the lead.

I looked it up. Looks intriguing (I love the angst potential of know you love is cursed to love you back) but I am wary of starting another unfinished trilogy. I devoured the first two books of Mira Grant's Newflesh (sorry, I love puns) trilogy and now I have to wait till June 2012 for the 3rd. I am not good with delayed literary gratification.

Oh, she wrote The Spiderwick Chronicles (I'm wiki'ing her). I haven't read them but I enjoyed the movies. I love good YA writers.

Ew, Cassie Claire and to be honest, fairies in general. Best True Blood line ever: "Fairies? How fucking lame." Give me a zombie any day ;).

OMG, LOL. Faeries - the fantasy equivalent of a vegan hipster who wears leather boots.
