Feel Free To Skip The Cat Poop Talk
► Ha, so much for getting ahead paying my credit card off! Last week my friend John linked me to a pretty neat drawing of Batgirl on Ebay. The drawing is roughly 11" x 17" and inked with detailed backgrounds. The artist is named Leo and the seller is ComiConArt, the art dealer I won and bought a shitload of drawings from last year on Ebay. It's been several months since I was last able to win one of his Ebay auctions, and since his shipping and handling price jumped from $12 in 2011 to $14 in January to $28 since April, I've had much less incentive to bid.
I may have had less incentive, but in the past 4 or 5 months since I last won one of his auctions, I have bid on the occasional drawing that I found too good to pass up. Each one I eventually lost by a huge margin, with the winning bids often exceeding $70. When John sent me this Batgirl link, I figured I'd give it a shot and bid $36, never once thinking I'd win it given the detailed ink work in the drawing.
Turns out I was wrong. On Sunday someone bid, increasing the price to $30, and since there were still 2 and a half days left in the auction I assumed that Ii would be sniped and outbid in the last few seconds of the auction. That never happened and the auction ended at $30 today. Imagine my surprise when I signed on and saw that I actually won, and that I had to actually pay the $60 total for the drawing. I will say I thought it was funny, and will manage all right with regards to the money. While money may be tight, I'm not exactly in dire straits... yet.
Here's my winnings, Batgirl by Leo:
► For the past couple of days I've been increasingly suffering from "new parent syndrome" worrying about Stormy. When I scooped out his litter box yesterday I found that his stool wasn't the usual solid links, but flatter and oddly shaped, more like clumped loose stool. Scooping out the box today I found the same thing. This has me worrying, especially since I can't really afford to take Stormy to a vet (especially after the above idiotic spending), but truthfully I'm not sure anything is really wrong.
While his stool seems slightly looser than normal, it doesn't appear to be diarrhea, and the colour seems normal. If it was diarrhea I'd imagine he'd be going several times a day but he's only having his usual once a day movement. He also shows no other signs of being remotely sick if his energetic bounding and playing are any indication. His nose remains cold and wet too. Dean keeps telling me not to worry and that cats, like people, probably just have occasional bouts of unexplained loose stool.
Another possibility I've considered is that it could just be a reaction to the extreme heat and humidity of the past several days, as Stormy seems to be drinking a lot more water (which I change frequently). I'm wondering if that would also explain a sudden increase in shedding today. Each time I pick him up today I end up covered in cat hair, and the only other time this happened was the day I brought him home from the vet.
So, for the record, I don't think anything is necessarily wrong, but I'm going to keep an eye on him while continuing to change his water often. Hopefully this clears up soon and I can move on to worrying about other things.

► Gawker: Where Is the Woman Who Allegedly Had Hot Lesbian Sex With Florida’s Lieutenant Governor in Her Office? - Lesbian or not, I couldn't care less. But apparently the Lieutenant Governor's defense is that she's been married 29 years so couldn't possibly be married (the woman who walked in on the lesbian tryst, however, she alleges must be the real lesbian because she's unmarried). So I guess the idea that a gay person entered a heterosexual marriage to hide their homosexuality is ridiculous and impossible.
► DailyMail: Meet Total Recall's new three-breasted woman! Kaitlyn Leeb reveals eye-popping prosthetic chest while promoting reboot at Comic-Con - She makes me wish I had another hand.
► OKCupid Enemies - A blog showcasing douchebags on dating site OKCupid. I'm not surprised at the creepy and idiotic things the guys say and do to get themselves on the site. I'm more surprised that the pictures are uncensored. You'd think they'd black out people's eyes, but I guess if the douchebags in question post the pics online themselves, then all bets are off.
