Another Popular Author I Can't Read

► For the past week or two Deana has left a novel on the bathroom counter and I've been reading bits and pieces of it as I use the facilities. The book is a ghost thriller by Dean Koontz titled What the Night Knows. I was just finally getting used to Koontz's odd purple prose phrasing when I finally hit a section where the main character's children debut in a dinner scene. Children aged 8 to 13, all talking like snarky college students. In a book about a serial killer who's ghost may be possessing people 20 years after his death, I found the grade 6 girl discussing the homoerotic subtext of her 13 year old brother's military books the most blatantly unrealistic. I rolled my eyes, removed my tissue paper marker, and closed the book.

It's full steam ahead for Titanic II - Clive Palmer - He plans to have the new ship made to the exact specifications of the original Titanic. Because there were no design flaws. Genius. Someone needs to ask him if his plan to recreate every detail of the ship and the voyage includes recreating the sinking and mass deaths of passengers and crew.KimW: Well it's being made in China.
KimW: Literally.
KimW: So who knows.
Derek: lol
Derek: can I put that in my journal?
KimW: Sure.
KimW: Put a note in that I do sincerely hope that no translation issue causes them to create a "iceberg impact simulator" that sinks the ship.
Derek: lol
Derek: noted
FoxNews: Russian Spy Turns Fashion Model - I don't really have anything to say except damn she's beautiful.

Shine from Yahoo: Adidas "Shackle" Sneakers Create Controversy - In further news, offended people are offended.

EOnline: Michelle Pfeiffer: I'd Love to Play Catwoman Again - I wouldn't mind seeing Michelle Pfeiffer in a skin tight catsuit again.

Cinema Blend: Man Of Steel To Feature The Music Of Hans Zimmer - All I know is that there's little chance we're going to get a truly epic and iconic new theme for Superman. Most modern superhero movies all sound exactly the same.

TheChive: I’m prescribing you a heavy dose of FLBP for your Monday blues (41 Photos; Big Boobs and Cleavage) - Boobs and cleavage are always welcome.

The Wizard of Oz in China by Billy Nunez - This is very cute and certainly an interesting take on the story. Though I have to ask, Munchkinland is in Australia?*

* Yes, I get it, it's "Oz".

Our Valued Customers: While explaining why he isn't a fan of Neil Gaiman... - What about writers (Neil Gaiman included) who actually are smarter than him?
