► Well that's disappointing. Last night a friend of mine informed me that the government decided to try an experiment this year with the tax returns for extremely low income families and those on disability pensions but not giving out the full tax return money in the weeks after they had in their returns. Instead, that money will be held back until July when it will be given back piecemeal over the next 12 months.
Nice of them to let people know before hand. This disappoints and frustrates me as I was hoping to use that money to pay off my (relatively minor) debts, but now will have the privilege of receiving $15-25 dollars extra a month. That's sure to make a difference in the coming year.
For the record I'm not really very angry about this. Mostly I just find it silly and a bit pointless. Supposedly next year you'll have the option of choosing to have the money sent to you in one lump sum or have the monthly stipends.
► It's nice after a so long to be able to eat eggs again. I used to eat eggs fairly regularly but gave them up two years ago as found I kept having diarrhea after I ate them. Last week Deana bought half a dozen eggs and I decided to try them again and I was fine. From 2004 to 2009 the eggs I was buying were those
Omega-3 ones, and Dean suggested it was the Omega-3 that was making me sick. She only ever buys regular eggs, and after trying them I think she's right.
After doing a brief search online I found that most Omega-3 infused eggs are made that way by feeding hens fish oil, and that fish oil is known to make people ill. So I guess that mystery is solved.
Nice to be able to eat scrambled egg sandwiches again. I should try making French toast some time...

Quote of the Moment
Col. Vincent Kane: In order for life to have appeared spontaneously on earth, there first had to be hundreds of millions of protein molecules of the ninth configuration. But given the size of the planet Earth, do you know how long it would have taken for just one of these protein molecules to appear entirely by chance? Roughly ten to the two hundred and forty-third power billions of years. And I find that far, far more fantastic than simply believing in God.
