► With all the running around I did yesterday, and my first therapy appointment in two months (in which I pulled out and named a list of most of my major issues for the first time), the most curious, and to me, interesting thing occurred downtown. The first place we went after my appointment was to the comic book shop, and as always we parked in the parking lot next to the shop. When we pulled in something caught my eye, and I figured it couldn't be what I thought it was, but it was. Someone had placed stickers of
Vincent Price's face in the center of the handicap parking space signs (covering the wheelchair symbol).
This begs two questions. First, is this some new urban fad or meme? And second, where can I get these stickers?
► From stickers to things that didn't but should stick, the package with
my two Goblin Queen drawings arrived yesterday morning. I was surprised and briefly worried when I found the package outside my apartment door because the self sealing flap of the package was wide open, and the self adhesive glue wasn't tacky to the touch. Luckily the 2 drawings were still in the package and safe, but usually
ComiConArt (the art dealer/seller I bought the drawings from) includes a business postcard and that was missing. The drawings are always sent in a large plastic sleeve which is taped to a thin heavy board and inserted into the mailable envelop. The bag is always inserted so that the open end faces out. Luckily the unusually large sized of my 2 drawings prevented them from sliding out of the bag and being damaged or lost, though I shudder to think what would have happened if one of them happened to be a couple of millimetres thinner.
I sent ComiConArt a message on Ebay letting him know how the package arrived and that they might have a batch of envelops with faulty glue. I reassured that I was not complaining and that my drawings were fine but suggested that they might reinforce the seal by taping the flap down in the future and inserting the bag into the envelop with the open end inside as a precaution. He replied thanking me for letting him know, and agreed that that was a good idea.
► From chat:Derek: I've been thinking lately that I should have a double feature and watch
The NeverEnding Story and
The Goonies one night
Derek: reason is that they're both films I first saw in grade school when they used to occasionally gather the entire student body in the gym to sit on the floor and watch a movie (I have no idea why they did that)
Matt: we did that all the time
Matt: those were probably the only films they owned on film
Matt: we watched
Condorman all the time
Derek: I've never seen that
Derek: I think I saw other films at school like that, but those are the only two I remember because they both left a big imprint
Derek: I think they probably showed the various Star Wars movies to us at school too
Matt: I really only remember Condorman because my grade school "girlfriend" pointed out to me it was PG because you could see the girls boobs
Matt: it was just cleavage
Matt: but it was wonderful
Derek: the good old days
Derek: like
Clash of the Titans having
Perseus' mom's bare breasts in a PG movie
Matt: actually I remember quite a bit about the movie
Matt: her ass too
Derek: Ancient Greek MILF

Superhero Hype: Captain America Tells Hulk to Smash in New Avengers Spot! - I like that for
this movie they finally made the

The Incredible Hulk) he didn't look like
Eric Bana or
Ed Norton.
