A Stress Pill Sounds Pretty Good Right About Now
► I feel like shit this morning. As I've mentioned in the past couple of journal entries, my nerves are running rampant as I fast approach my therapist appointment tomorrow, the first time I'll be leaving the apartment to run errands in 2 months. The worrying and fear have really aggravated my nerves, and I have been having panic attacks since yesterday afternoon. My pulse is only now starting to slow down a bit, but it is slowing down, so I'm happy about that (I think drinking a couple of glasses of water this morning has helped).
My big concern is that my vertigo is now back, and yesterday I developed a migraine. Around 5:30pm yesterday I was on the computer and noticed I was having trouble with my vision. In the center of my field of vision was a squiggly cascading light that quickly spread out obscuring my sight completely for the next 40 minutes. It was an "aura", and it was only the second time I've ever had one (the first occasion was last February 2011). By 6:15pm the aura was gone, but my vision was blurry for a few more hours, and I had developed a sizable headache. I tried to sleep it off but my racing heart and panic made that incredibly difficult, and I spent the night tossing and turning.
So, according to the current checklist, I'm anxious, with cold sweats, vertigo induced dizziness, and a tension/migraine headache with slightly blurred vision. All because I have to go out for a few hours tomorrow.
Agoraphobia sucks. This is the worst panic episode I've had in a very long time, and it's leaving me exhausted.
