► Starting to get a little nervous about my
Barbarian Queen poster I won on Ebay 2 and a half weeks ago and
the last 5 drawings I won. The poster should have been in last week, and the drawings should have been in yesterday. Still, there's always tomorrow.
► Awesome!
Wynn Ryder sent me an email tonight, with scans of the four sketchcards I commissioned last week. For better or worst, I just can not get enough of these. He said he should be mailing them out to me soon. I can hardly wait because that
Black Terror card is totally kick ass. It'd look awesome displayed book-ended with
the Beachhead card he drew for me in the last batch.
From left to right, the four cards below are
Black Terror,
Ginny Weasley, the
Baroness and
Hawkwoman. I'm already wondering who to ask for "next time".

See Russell Crowe In His Jor-El Costume For Snyder's SUPERMAN Movie!! - Ugh... Looks like
Krypton is being remade into a pseudo warrior society ala
Asgard (particularly in the
Thor movie), instead of the "science as religion" super advanced world that's been it's defining characteristic for 8 decades. Not liking the big ass rubber shoulder armour. And yeah, he's wearing
the Superman outfit underneath the robes. Cute.

If the rest of this year's movie posters told the truth - All the backlash against
Adam Sandler and his movie
Jack & Jill is having the opposite effect and just making me want to see it. I have no idea why. Spite?

Top 10 Halloween Movies for Younger Kids (GeekDad Re-Animator) -
E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial taking place on and around Halloween always stuck with me as a kid, so yeah I can see it as being an appropriate movie for the season. The lukewarm response to
Corpse Bride always makes me think that the real reason
The Nightmare Before Christmas worked so well had more to do with director
Henry Selick than producer
Tim Burton (though most people seem to think Burton birthed the entire movie himself).
Selick went on to direct the acclaimed animated films
James and the Giant Peach and
Coraline.

First Look At Malin Akerman & Tyler Labine In The Dark Comedy ‘Cottage Country’ -
Breaker High...
Degrassi: The Next Generation...
Republic Of Doyle...
Slings and Arrows... I have never heard of a movie with such a strong Canadian pedigree. I also keep forgetting
Malin Akerman is Canadian raised. Yay Canada, I guess.
Quote of the Moment
Pamela Finklestein: "Broads don't belong in broadcasting"? Is that the kind of professional courtesy you teach your news department?
R.J. Fletcher: Why, that's a terrible thing. I don't know how many time I've told those boys, never call chicks broads.
