► The past couple of days have been odd. I've been falling asleep early each night, and in turn waking up early, which is actually probably good. Unfortunately this is mostly because of exhaustion, anxiety, and horrible tension and stress headaches.
Most of the tension is from worrying about Dean, who had a sudden breakdown yesterday (I'm on my way there). It got so bad I actually lost control and screamed at her briefly (neighbours probably heard that; I apologized to her immediately). Luckily she had calmed down a few hours later and has been perfectly fine today. Unfortunately I still feel like my skull is being crushed and my jaw is clenched and hurts.
To top that off, I received a letter and form from the Jury Administration office. I haven't been selected for jury duty, but have been reselected for the pool, so I have to fill out the form (which is just one page) and mail it in before the end of next week. Fun times.
► The above drama aside, a few pleasant things have happened this week. For one, I finally cut my hair today, so I no longer feel like a greasy sweaty mop has been fixed to my head.
Yesterday morning I actually awoke around 4:30am. Dean was still up and she told me she had bought my birthday gift and said I could have it early. It's
The Mentalist:
Season 3. We've been watching it since.
The other good news is that my friend
John sent me an email this morning telling me that he received the package from
Kevin Sharpe with our commissions. While it might take a week or two before John can mail my stuff to me, I'm thisclose to getting
my Superman drawing! I'm very happy to hear that.

Josie McCoy (JosieMOfficial) on Twitter - Hey,
she got one! Hmm, I thought her name was
Josie Jones... looks like they changed it.

9gag: It's History Repeating - Actually, I've always said that
George Clooney looked like
Clark Gable, but without the jug-ears and goofy teeth. But yeah, today's stars are just the latest models in the assembly line that is Hollywood.

Etsy: Spacetime's Finest No. 3 Print -
Superman and
Doctor Who. This is an
intercompany crossover I want to see now.

The 10 Architectural Sins of Superhero Bases - When I had the basement bedroom at the house (for 11 years), my mother's best friend nicknamed it The Crypt. No matter how much I tried to get people to call it
The Fortress of Solitude, all I ever heard was "Derek spends all his time in The Crypt."

Geek Alerts: Tokidoki Marvel Frenzies - My friend Dran sent me this link and this exchange happened:Derek: why is Captain America holding a large hamburger while standing on a skateboard?
Dran: I don't understand the question
Derek: there's 20 of these character keychains, and his is the only one with out of place objects
Dran: He's Captain AMERICA, Derek.
Derek: I think I want one of these to attach to the zipper of my leather jacket
Dran: I like the Human Torch one. He looks very pleased with himself.
Dran:(4:48:30 PM) BH****: wtf
(4:48:40 PM) BH****: why is Captain America on a skateboard and holding a hamburger?
Derek: HAHAHA
Derek: awesome

25 Things We Forgot About Pop Culture in the 1980s - As a kid in the 80s, I was enthralled, fascinated, and possibly in love with
Leslie Easterbrook's
Police Academy character Lieutenant Callahan. She's probably why I ended up loving
Power Girl. Actually, she could be ground zero for my fondness for strong, tough, brassy, brash, yet non-bitchy buxom female characters, everyone from Power Girl, to
Big Barda, to
Ms. Marvel (and countless others I'm no doubt forgetting). Granted, I also love other characters and types such as fun loving adventuress
Batgirl, cute girl-next-door
Mary Marvel, and stoic and regal
Wonder Woman, but the Easterbrook/Callahan type seems to be the one I always like the most.
How is there no "Best of" compilation video of her scenes on YouTube?
