► One day left before the postal strike, still have yet to receive any of my Ebay purchases. God I hope this isn't going to drag on long.
► It's still warm today. Warm, and soft, and fuzzy, like a blanket, a big warm, soft, fuzzy blanket. Sooo sleepy... Unlike yesterday's oppressive mix of heat, humidity and stagnate air, today it's not as wet feeling, and there's a strong warm breeze pushing through the apartment (literally, one of Dean's potted plants flew off of a table early this afternoon).
After barely sleeping for the past few days, I took a nap this afternoon and got a good 4 or 5 hours in. Although it was a bit confusing as I was awoken around 5:30 by Dean in the bathroom and thought it was morning and she was getting ready for work. I immediately fell back to sleep. I woke up again at 7:00 when Dean stepped out of the apartment, and started to panic thinking it was Thursday morning. I couldn't believe I slept all night long, and come to think of it, I couldn't remember when I did lay down, and I didn't put the trash out! Surprised me when I realized it was still Wednesday.
Given how the heat and humidity made it so hard for me to sleep the past few days, I think I need to buy myself a few pairs of light, breezy boxer shorts, just to sleep in. Maybe I can get some Superman boxers.

Details Emerge On DC's Relaunch - Whoa. Whoa! Whoa!A new title starring Superman written by Grant Morrison.
Why didn't someone tell me that before? If anyone in existence "gets"
Superman, it's
Grant Morrison! If it's half as good as
All-Star Superman I am all over this! Bring the reboot on!
I just hope that he's not going to be de-aged into a callow youth, and I wonder how much of his mythology they're going to abandon or keep. For me, it's not so much about continuity for me, as it is consistency. As long as
Superman still acts like Superman,
Batman like Batman, etc, and everyone keeps their relative roles, I'll be happy.
Decided to "fix" the costume elements that were annoying me on the preview cover for the upcoming relaunched first issue of Justice League. Using my incredibly mediocre photoshop skills, I removed all that weird extraneous piping from the
Flash's hood and the soul patch cover, the weird raised... things on
Green Lantern's shoulders, and Superman's unnecessary collar and sleeve piping.
Jim Lee is a fantastic artist but I find he has a habit of trying to clutter costumes just for the sake of adding "something". Keep It Simple, Stupid.
I actually don't mind redesigning Superman symbol, but I think if you're going to do that you should push it a bit more dramatically, such as
Alex Ross did in Kingdom Come. But really, I don't understand the point in changing Superman's symbol from a marketing stance. It's one of the most universally known symbols around the world. Why suddenly drop such a major piece of iconography just for the sake of being "different"?
I also think
Superman's new proposed boots look ridiculously overdone. Why does an invulnerable man need kneepads?

Quote of the Moment
Jor-El: Live as one of them, Kal-El, to discover where your strength and your power are needed. Always hold in your heart the pride of your special heritage. They can be a great people, Kal-El, they wish to be. They only lack the light to show the way. For this reason above all, their capacity for good, I have sent them you... my only son.
