The Forgetful Spender

May 04, 2011 04:50

► Called up Dad this afternoon to tell him something and immediately forgot what it was. Spent 5 minutes chitchatting instead.

► Amazon.ca sent me an email tonight. Looks like my order of 6 mini posters shipped. That was one of the four orders I placed last week. I purposely didn't mention it (or the fourth one) because I thought it seemed too irresponsible. With those four orders I reached my self imposed monthly credit card usage limit, so I'm going to try to avoid using it for the remainder of this month. That means I'll again have to postpone getting a paid LiveJournal account.

As of right now, all four of my orders are in the mail and on their way to me. Whether I get any of them anytime soon is anyone's guess since they're all coming from the US. I figure I probably won't see the first until at least next week.

Rachel Weisz In Talks For Disney's 'Oz: The Great And Powerful' - We might get to see both Mila Kunis and Rachel Weisz with green skin? Yes please!

The Poster for Roland Emmerich's Anonymous - The idea of Roland Emmerich directing a movie about William Shakespeare boggles my mind. What's next? Michael Bay's Dickens?

Star Wars Episodes 1-3 by Zenithuk - Very cool re-imagined posters.

10 Nerd Movies That Don’t Need Remakes - The rule of thumb with remakes today, and I think this is most true of recent horror remakes, is to just make the films louder, grosser, and incomprehensibly edited. The cinematic equivalent of a crack-fueled, vomiting madman jumping up and down and screaming "LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME!" for 2 hours in your face. Is there some Hollywood rule that says "if you can't make it better, make it more obnoxious?" They should focus on remaking crappy films that no one love.

9 movie “losers” you’d definitely hang out with - I can honestly say I would do everything in my power to avoid the jackasses in 6 and 7. And possibly 1.

Late Bloomer (2004 - Short Film; Sundance Film Festival) - The twin horrors and madness of HP Lovecraft's percolating purple prose and sex education class mashed together. Just try to ignore the labeling of the entire female and male reproductive systems as "vagina" and "penis".
