► With my pension update meeting lurking in the shadows of next week like a thug brandishing a truncheon, there's one thing that I'm most worried about: whether I'll have to justify my spending or not. Since I have to bring my bank account and credit card statements, I'm worried I might get crap for my Amazon and comic book shop purchases. Really, I have no idea how my new caseworker will respond.
► Given my past behaviour, it's probably no surprise that I responded to the above worries by ordering 4 more tradepaperbacks from Amazon.ca last Friday. Eh, I can afford them. The books I ordered are:►
Power Girl (collects the 2005
Geoff Johns Power Girl centric arc of
JSA Classified issues #1-4, among other issues)
►
Terra (2008
Terra mini series co-starring Power Girl)
►
Power Girl: A New Beginning (collects issues 1 - 6 of Power Girl's current ongoing series)
►
Power Girl: Aliens & Apes (collects issues 7 - 12 of Power Girl's current ongoing series)
To quicken delivery (the more items in an order, the longer it takes them to compile it) I separated the four books into two order of two books each. The first arrived this (Monday) morning, and I'm expecting the second to arrive later this (Tuesday) morning.
Oddly, it wasn't until this morning that it dawned on me that all 4 books are drawn by
Amanda Conner. While I knew she drew each one, I just hadn't make the conscious connection that she drew all 4.
► They got me this Monday morning. As I was waiting for UPS to drop off the first of the 2 packages above, and also waiting for my landlord to bring me a rent receipt for my pension meeting, I was paying a lot of attention to the apartment buzzer. The buzzer went off at 10:00am and I ran to get it. I couldn't make out what the guy outside was saying but assumed it was UPS so I buzzed the security door open. Turned out it was
Jehovah's Witness. Luckily the guy didn't take that long and left after handing me a flyer and talking for just a couple of minutes. Just mildly disappointing and annoying.
UPS eventually did come by 40 minutes later.

Michael Shannon Is Superman's Zod - I'm guessing the movie will go like this: young, callow, wishy-washy
Clark Kent doesn't want to become
Superman, tries to stay anonymous,
Zod shows up causing mass damage and destruction and basically forces him to finally choose a side.

Top 10 Movies Ruined By Their Franchise - Not to be pedantic, but I'd argue the original movies still retain their greatness for the most part.
Jaws: The Revenge can not destroy the awesomeness that is
Jaws.
More importantly, does using the word "pedantic" in a sentence make the sentence/writer pedantic?
