Two Weeks Without Porn Was Dull
► Two weeks since it crashed, and a week and a half at the shop, I finally got my computer back today. Turned out my hard drive's connectors were degrading. Luckily they were able to copy the entire contents of the drive into a new 500 GB hard drive. They also installed a brand spanking new 2 GB RAM stick. Nice upgrade from my old 512.
I suppose this means I might be able to run World of Warcraft now without all the freezing and lagging problems I had before. Although I'm not sure if I want to get leashed to the game again.
► Without my computer, I spent most of the past 2 weeks watching DVDs. I managed to get through a lot of my unwatched stack, so that's good.
This past weekend I also house and dog sat for my brother and sister-in-law again, from Friday morning to late Sunday evening, with a break Saturday evening to attend my grandmother's surprise 90th birthday party at the Ramada Inn. There were more than 60 guests. Much more.
Worrying about the computer, house sitting, dog sitting, and having to go out for the birthday party had my nerves pretty ragged all week and weekend, but I survived. Even though I barely slept. At least everything's back to normal now. Or at least, as normal as things are for me.
► Had a nice surprise early this afternoon while waiting for Dad to pick me up. The mailman buzzed the apartment as he came in the building. I was in the front room so I stuck my head out the door and he had the package of the 2nd batch of pics I commissioned from Dexter Cockburn. It was great getting those, and getting them directly. Happy for that!
I'm very tempted to frame and hang up either the Big Barda, Ms. Marvel or Phantom Lady drawings in my room, but the explicit nudity might be a bit much. Then again, it is my room. I'll think about it.
Already I'm mulling over ideas for the next commission batch.
► Is Green Lantern Already In His Second Movie? - Complaints about too many villains packing the upcoming Green Lantern movie. I think it's a bit early to get worked up over this, especially since everything I've read so far leads me to believe Sinestro will be in a mentor role for this film and won't turn villain until the sequel.
► New Muppet Movie To Open Christmas 2011 - I'm actually happy this is happening.
► Scarlett Johansson And The Case Of The Missing Cleavage - Now that's a disappointing waste. Scarlett films Iron Man 2 and shrinks from busty buxom to flat chested. I hope this never happens to Christina Hendricks.
► Thank goodness for Katy Perry.
