Cos All I Want To Do Is...

► They days are definitely getting hotter now. The heat, humidity, my nerves the past few days, and all the running around today have really worn me out. My back and ribs are aching. Still, lot of good things today have me feeling pretty cheerful.

In the end Dad and I did end up going to the bicycle shop downtown. It looked like we weren't going to since we were at the mall for a couple of hours. Even though I still felt and continue to feel guilty about it, Dad bought me a new bike (I'm paying him $50 a month for the next 6 months though, to cover most of it). I don't actually have the bike yet, since they're attaching the back rack and hard plastic compartment to it for me. That means I have to go back out tomorrow to pick it up. Hopefully my nerves are starting to wind down, but I'm still feeling antsy.

I bought a cherry pie and I'm dying to have a piece, but can't because I don't want to stuff myself if I have to leave tomorrow. Stupid phobias.

My old bike was mountain bike but this one is, well, I guess just a regular one. The tires are much slimmer and rounder so it's going to take me awhile to get used to the different balance. Honestly, I think I'd have preferred another mountain bike but this would should be a bit lighter and therefor easier to carry up the stairs to my apartment.

I wonder if I legally need a helmet. That's one thing we didn't buy.

► Spent a lot of time hanging out at the mall. Finally mailed that package with the scratched up Doctor Who set to Amazon. Hopefully they'll get it soon and we won't get stuck having to pay for the 2 sets.

Reports: CBS cancels 'Ghost Whisperer,' 'Num3rs,' 'Christine' and more - Almost sounds like CBS is canceling everything that doesn't have CSI or NCIS in the title. Ghost Whisperer's cancellation is shocking since it's routinely the best rated show on Friday nights. Not having the option of weekly Jenny Love makes me a sad panda.

Why Chuck? Why Not Heroes? - Maybe it's because Chuck has been consistently fun for each of it's three seasons while Heroes has been a directionless mess since it's acclaimed first season was followed by the disastrous second season. Also, I think Heroes was much more expensive to produce.

It's been 20 years since Jim Henson died, but the Muppets live on - That it's been 20 years is mind blowing to me. It's a shame that the Muppets haven't been as successful since the years Jim Henson was running things. I keep hoping they get things back on track.

And I actually do remember where I was when I found out Henson had died. The whole family was in the family van for an evening drive and we had to stop somewhere and Mom bought her weekly copy of People and it was the cover story (back when it was still mostly a human interest magazine and not yet a tabloid).

'Splice' Director Adds 'Alpha Flight' To List Of Superhero Movies He's Dying To Make - I'm for that. Seeing the Guardian in red and white Maple Leaf spandex on screen would be awesome. Although given how Americanized X-Men Origins: Wolverine was, I figured the studio would have them make a lead American character and stick most of the action in the US.

And I totally want the Guardian bust pictured on the right here. Shiny!
