Not Today... Maybe Wednesday
► Been a bit more out of sorts today. Dad called me on early this afternoon on his way back from golfing to ask me if I wanted to go to the bank and the store. I said no because of my nerves and now sort of regret it. Even though I probably would have been a bit of a wreck.
Looks like we're going on Wednesday instead. Hopefully I'll be find that day, since Dad's taking me to the bank (deposit my birthday checks), the comic book shop (Showcase collections I ordered* should be coming in), Zellers (to look at the new stock of cheap DVDs as agreed last week), and then Walmart (to get the monthly apartment purchases, few grocery items, and other things**). Hopefully he won't have a coronary since I'll be buying a lot of things. Including a DVD set that Deana asked me to get for her (to count out of my share of the rent and bills).
* Showcase Presents World's Finest Vol 1, Showcase Presents World's Finest Vol 2, and Showcase Presents Enemy Ace Vol 1.
** 30 Rock: Season 3 and Ms Marvel mini action figure.
► I've been asked a couple of times now about what I got for my birthday, so I figure I'll just list it all here:
► Dad - throw blanket, DVDs, $20
► Deana (older sister/roommate) - The Big Bang Theory Season 2 DVD set
► Darren (brother), Jenn (sister-in-law), Brett (younger sister) - Star Trek movie logo T-shirt, black hoodie with white stripes, slippers, bag of Swedish berries, and bag of mini Oh Henry chocolate bars
► Mum (maternal grandmother/godmother) - $50 check
► Aunt Jan (maternal aunt) - $20 check
► Nanny (paternal grandmother) - $30
► JR (net friend) - gift art sketch of my superheroine The Stunning Heracles
And there we have it.
► Trying to find an image on Google of the Star Trek T-shirt, I keep finding catalog pictures of men modeling other shirts. Several of them attempting to do the Vulcan salute. I'm far from the biggest Trekkie, but it just annoys me when people do the salute wrong. It's thumb out!
► DC Comics Blog (Sept 18th): A Look At Power Girl #5 - Missed this a week and a half ago. It's a few preview pages for the latest issue of Power Girl (which I should be picking up this week). In these preview pages Power Girl forgets her gloves and boots and goes into action without them. I actually think it's a neat look for her.
