PLACEMENT!
Alright, so after this long process of not knowing, and then being wait listed, and then being upgraded, and then waiting for my placement, I have finally been told where I will be spending the next year of my life. That place being overly requested...
OKINAWA!
I had put no placement requests and kinda made a big deal about it in my Statement of Purpose, saying that I didn't want to ruin my trip w/ pre-expectations of where I'm going and basically just make the best out of the experience. For some reason I believe thats the reason i was put first on the waiting list, and also the reason they chose me to go here.
The town is Iheya-son(village), and apparently its a small island of about 1,600 people and an hour and a half ride to the Okinawa mainland. It is tiny. It is isolated. It is close civilization (there is apparently a ferry that goes to Okinawa mainland twice a day). I'm very excited and very scared.
