soliciting book recs
Hellooo! SO. I have had trouble finishing books for the past, let's be generous and call it two years or so. And I really, really, really want to read books again.
I'm slowly (sloooowly) making my way through Ancillary Justice, at many of your recommendation - just to provide me with motivation, do any of you who've read it remember at what point it really hooked you in? That would help to know.
Anyway, I figured maybe it would help to read books that are a little more in theme with my current fandom, which means (fictional) books themed around:
*Sports
or
*Canada
If anyone has any recs, old or new, they would be appreciated :-)

Completely unrelatedly, a friend of a friend is temporarily relocating to Raleigh, North Carolina. If anyone knows specifically any Israelis in the area that might help ease the transition, an introduction would be awesome.
