I have been away for far too long so MEME
Because it is the end of August, which means nothing really, let's just say because it is a DAY, here is a meme I found myself doing on tumblr but then could not leave any actual comments on (because: tumblr), and so am bringing it here. With, uh, a slight adaptation.

I answered the questions I was given and wrote 11 new ones, and since I enjoyed reading responses to the questions I wrote I will be answering them as well.

1. What is your favorite holiday?
2. What snack/food from your country do you think everyone should taste?
3. What TV show do you absolutely 100% want to own the DVD box set of (or already own and would save from a burning building)?
4. What is the most difficult season to live through, where you live?

6. How might a character from your current fandom and a character/actor from a previous fandom realistically meet IRL?

My answers below the cut:
1. What is your favorite holiday? I can't decide between Rosh Hashana and Shavuot, but let's go with Shavuot because the food is delicious - cheesecake and fruits, and the weather's usually pretty great.
2. What snack/food from your country do you think everyone should taste? Fresh hummus, hot from the stove, with olive oil, tahini, chickpeas, onion and egg, and soft pita straight from the oven. No hummus I've tasted in Europe or the US tastes anything like it.
3. What TV show do you absolutely 100% want to own the DVD box set of (or already own and would save from a burning building)? I'm gonna say Slings & Arrows, especially if they came out with Hebrew subtitles. It's such a precious, contained show, and since it's older and more difficult to find online it's hard to pimp it to friends; owning the DVDs would make it easy to lend out. (If I were living in a universe in which it was impossible to also stream or download entire seasons my answer might be different, but for the moment we are not.)
4. What is the most difficult season to live through, where you live? Summer for sure, though this year has been relatively tame (global warming messing up the seasons ftw). Supposedly it's 30 celsius in Tel Aviv right now, but there's 70% humidity and it feels like so much more. I'm living from a/c to a/c. Every other season is pretty much 100% awesome.
5. What 50k+ word fic would you rec under the category “you don’t need to know the canon for this”? The 100k Sid/Andy Toy Story fic. Absolutely no canon needed other than knowing: this is about two kids who grew up as neighbors, and in the movies (not in the fic), Andy's toys came to life. Just - feelings, so many of them, such a well crafted fic.
6. How might a character from your current fandom and a character/actor from a previous fandom realistically meet IRL? Well, Bandom and hockey, so either a game or a concert, let's so with one of three options: Ryan Ross, who we already know goes to Kings games, manages to find someone who works at the arena who recognizes him, and they take him to the locker room; a couple Hawks go to backstage at a Fall Out Boy concert; or Patrick Stump takes his band to a hockey game in Chicago (for a while, the Hawks even had a FOB song as their pump up locker room song, I'm sure they'd be psyched).
7. Same fandoms; how do you imagine characters from these fandoms might meet in fic, crack AUs included? I used love the idea of this fic where Brendon and Kaner would just be kind of long distance friends whose lives would intersect at various points; like, when Brendon is maybe 6 years old, his family goes on a trip to Niagara Falls for New Years. He gets lost at an ice skating rink but runs into this other kid and they have an awesome time all afternoon until their parents find them. And over the years he and Kaner keep in touch, like, just a tiny bit, they find each other's email when email starts happening, they meet maybe once or twice more, and then all of a sudden Panic explodes and Brendon's voice is suddenly everywhere and Kaner is just kind of quietly psyched about it, and then they meet again when Kaner's in Vegas accepting the Calder Trophy, and again when Panic are in Chicago to record Live in Chicago, Bden invites Kaner backstage, and they always know they can count on each other for whatever free concert tickets or game tickets or other pull-the-strings favors they manage to score. (When Kaner's rookies find out, they are of course awed. Same goes for Ryro.)
Alternatively: Gabe Saporta stalks and terrorizes Gary Bettman until he ends the lockout. I know what synagogue you go to.
8. What small detail from your life would you like to see incorporated in fic someday (or already have)? These days: air sirens sounding, strangers and neighbors meeting in the hallway, lol. Endless possibilities there. But in general, I am waiting for the day someone (or me, idk) writes a dude-turns-into-a-girl fic where they go to the movies and dude is confronted with the endless annoyance of popcorn falling into your cleavage an getting stuck in your bra. Just once.
9. What was the first fic you ever posted online? If you don’t write, first fic you read online? It was called Eleventh Commandment, posted on a Buffy Yahoo mailing list, from the point of view of a Sunnydale High student who has Ms Rosenberg as a teacher. My first few stories were somehow all second-gen (or third-gen) Buffy fics.
10. Have you ever interacted with a character/actor/creator from one of your fandoms? (Elaborate if you want) When I was in high school, a friend had an online friend who she claimed was a PA on BtVS, and she agreed to pass on some questions from us to cast members. A month or so later we got the responses; I have no idea if they were real, but it was pretty awesome at the time (and all documented in an old email account I can no longer access.) Other than that: I have gone to two Panic shows so like, have seen them in the flash yay, and one Blackhawks gamep, where I took some stalkerazzi photos of Kaner and Tazer at the exit. Tazer waved! I guess that was... almost interaction?
11. What’s your favorite trope in fics? I have a ton, but let’s go with secret identities - specifically, the revelation moment where Lois discovers Clark is Superman etc. Can also be applied to many other kind of secret-revelation moments.
